I'm sorry but from the 7th row of the East Upper you could see he was in trouble. I predicted knee ligaments at the time. I know that isnt making my god or a medical genius.
What I do know is when a certain pain is described in the knee (after riling in pain for a minute or so) it isn't to be 'checked later'.

Sorry but it fits in so well with the mess we've seen with Holden, Mears and Alonso.

Fantastic. Well done to the guy. He deserves all the credit and recognition for that. I'm the first to offer such.

Doesn't mean he can do no wrong in the future though.

Funny that. It happened right in front of us. While the physio was examining the knee, I turned to my mum and dad and commented how it's an incredibly tough job to do a thorough knee examination and come up with a diagnosis pitchside in 30 seconds. Ligaments may have appeared intact, and Wheater may have felt ok, and the decision was made to see out the half. He'll have been reassessed at half time in more detail, and then the diagnosis made. Nothing wrong with that.

Wouldn't be so surprised if we finish bottom half in CH next season.

Fair play to your opinion.
In my opinion he should've been taken off given what he WILL have described.

I'm sure someone is looking over us and saying "right, who are Bolton's only decent players - Lee and Holden, right we'll get them injured.... ok we're now out of good players to injure, who are the alright ones? Wheater's alright, him next".

Why is it always the better players? I'll still cling onto the story in The People that Southampton are interested in Knight but I bet he's creaming his pants at the moment.

Problem is it isn't always that cut and dry. There is no way of knowing what Wheater described, and if he did happen to describe a textbook ACL injury and Lachman's test was positive, then there is absolutely no way the physio would have let him carry on. It's just harsh to jump on the medical staff's back because of this. The fact he played on anyway won't have even affected things, so it's a moot point to be arguing in the first place.

Gary Megson is a Gypsy, isn't he?

Real shame,Wheater's done ok since he was finally given a chance.Better put Ricketts alongside Sack O Shite on sunday. Not sure I want to see Ream trying to cope with the Douglas Barder 11.Alonso will be ok at left back as stoke are all out of decent wingers at present arent they? The real bugger is that Wheater would have been excellent in the championship next season and now we need another centre half.I hope we dont keep Knight as his feckless attitude gets on my tits tho I guess at a lower level he might be worth one last season Perhaps Ricketts can be our back 4 next year

It does seem odd that we have picked up so many injuries under Coyle. Then again we've also looked considerably unfitter under him. I'm beginning to think a lot of this is not a coincidence. I have really no idea if these kind of injuries are less preventable or not but the depth of care does seem to be lacking.

And we'll see how good Ream really is on Sunday. Wheater has been fairly solid as of late and masking Ream's deficient defending imo. Looks decent and calm on the ball, has potential but seems to be caught out of position and be turned too easily for my liking.
