On mine (a Samsung Get-the fck-outta-here) a lickle button get's me 3D as well. Oddly, the volume drops when that's on.
The F1 is pretty amazing using that.
ut is it just me or is the volume more than a split second after the video ... so it always seems a bit out of sych ?

Well, I can't comment for this year, as I've not watched much, but last season it was ... for certain.Annoyed Grunt wrote:F1 isn't shown in 3D though
The Samsung has the 3D button & with the spec's on about 50% is in 3D. They seem to have some camera's, some points which are 3D & some which aren't.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I must be mental or something. There's few sports I find boring on tv. Snooker, Darts, Tennis, F1, Curling, NFL- all great.
I've redlisted these three though

Golf

I doubt, TANGO, that your comment is correct; if it is, the world has tipped over the edge into pure madness.

They don't. I think Bobo is confused (I think, sorry Bobo if I'm wrong).Annoyed Grunt wrote:Hmmm, didn't realise the BBC did stuff in 3D.bobo the clown wrote:Well, I can't comment for this year, as I've not watched much, but last season it was ... for certain.Annoyed Grunt wrote:F1 isn't shown in 3D though

I think that his TV (like mine) has the ability to convert 2d tv into 3d. This is the actual telly doing it. You press a button and ANYTHING on the screen will be "converted" artificially into a 3d showing with depth. It works on any program you want, but of course some things work better than others, which is why Bobo perhaps thought "some of it was in 3d" it would depend on the camera angle. But to my knowledge no F1 has been broadcast in "proper 3d".
Essentially what Bobo is seeing is a trick of the technology rather than something genuinely shot in 3d with two cameras.......

Have Scotland Yard actually banned it? If so that is insanity. If they have just decided to use different terms then meh, I can see why they have done it, and I think it is harmless, but I think it is another of example of people trying too hard to avoid causing offence where none would ever be taken.
The sort of thing which lead to the TUC having to expressly state in their guidelines that you were in fact allowed to call a blackboard a blackboard. No doubt you'd agree any suggestion otherwise would be ludicrous, what with it actually being black, and I can see you point about the metaphorical use of black, I just don't think anybody actually makes that association.

I agree with you in the main, Bish, but Tango still has a point regarding racism where it doesn't exist. Outside of the 4uckwit London Labour councils, whoever made the frankly astonishing connection between black dustbin bags and some supposed association with black people and rubbish? And why the blackboard is now a chalkboard remains beyond me.thebish wrote:TANGODANCER wrote:Apparently Scotland Yard has banned the use of the word "blacklist" amidst fears of it being seen as racist. And I feel offended by the term 'Redlist'. Have you ever seen me after two minutes in the sun?

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
Maybe you can have a word upstairs, Bish, and see if we can't change snow colour to lilac or something? That way nobody would have to predict a White Christmas . Christmas has already rattled enough folk it seems (although I've never actually met anybody yet) and be upsetting us nice Caucasian folk. Fair's fair.
I guess what I'm trying to say is people are actually getting paid to think up what can only be described as absolute bollocks: Don't use Latin expressions etc etc. By keep raising these daft suggestions they are making differences and issues that shouldn't (and mainly don't) exist, do these Ministry of Tosspottery types actually think they are doing some good?
There, that should do it.

Blackboard is not a 'chalkboard', it is explicitly very much a blackboard, after loads of people (I'd hazard a giuess at the Daily Mail being involved) decided it was not allowed.

Anyway - today I'm angry because someone at work has nicked my Wanderers mug. I've been round trying to find it and have met with remarks along the lines of "It's probably on the shelf beneath the one where you'd normally expect to find it". Ha fecking ha!!!

Totes thought you were talking about Derek Niven, slap-head midfielder who knocked about in our reserves a few years ago!
