Coyle had a lot to cope with and difficult obstacles to overcome. At the same time, he was responsible for us being set out in vulnerable formations that everyone commentating on our games seemed to remark on.
Whatever, we're down. We can bitch and moan & I dont blame anyone for doing that, particularly those who spent shed loads of cash, but the sooner we all suck it up the better. Coyle aint going anywhere so lets get behind him for the new season. If we are struggling come October then perhaps it's time for the bedsheets to come out but until then they've got my full support.
October????? They've usually played about 26 games by October in the Championship...

Can we make a judgement at the end of August?

Personally we deserve everything we got, its been coming for the past 3 years - we have a totally inept 'piss poor' chairman (3 awful appointments on the spin - Lee, Megson, Coyle) steering the sinking ship, and before anyone comes back with the debt & a sky high wage bill - it was PG who allowed this debt to rise and who allowed the wage bill to spiral - he allowed a certain Gary Megson to spunk £25-£30M which is unforgiveable knowing how much we already were in debt (admittedly to ED)
As Chairman he has fully responsibility for all things BWFC, so IMO the buck stops with him, and after 3 successive managerial failures and allowing our debt to spiral without any improvement whatsoever on the pitch is criminal - so he should go and take clueless with him. I don't want Gartside or Coyle anywhere near this club next season, but if I had to pick one to stay surprisingly it would be Coyle....who if he takes his naive clueless head from up his arse and starts to listen to people, could possibly be successful as manager in the championship - if he gets rid of the chuckle brother coaches and brings in a tactically switched on assitant and a coach who can actually can organise the team.
And to all the rose tinters - give your heads a shake, this has been coming all season and just burying your head in the sand and ignoring very obvious problems won't make things go away, the only way to move forward & improve is to admit to your failings and address the problems asap,
BTW you'll all wake up tomorrow feeling worse than you do tonight when reality really sets in that we are now a championship side - thanks to Phil Gartside & Owen Coyle
You started poorly with BWFCi comment, but regarding Coyle listening to people, who do you suggest ?? Yourself or BWFCi, are you bth the tactical geniuses that could get us out of this mess, We're all brilliant managers on Football manager but what gives you the edge over anyone else. We all sit and say this should be done or that should have been done, very easy pressing a few buttons, but what qualifications do you have ?? Probably the same as me Fck all.
I haven't tinted glasses on, and agree with Coyle has to go but he wasn't a bad appointment at the time and most people were happy, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

When it was this October, we were told wait until November, then Christmas, then after Christmas, Now it's back to October?Harry Genshaw wrote:Worthy4England wrote:Harry Genshaw wrote:For me there is a lot of sense in most posts on here.

Can we make a judgement at the end of August? No! No bedsheets before October 1st. Flaming pitchforks not allowed until November

No. My bedsheets will be out wayyyyyyyy before October, if it isn't working. I might bring them first game of the season just to set the scene. There'll probably be plenty of space to lie down in with them if we're winning.

This feels like an obvious point, but he didn't plunge us into anything, it was never his money.Lord Kangana wrote:He never relegated us because he wasn't given chance.
He did, however, plunge us into the levels of debt that may well yet finish this club.
Which is pretty impressive for a team in the relegation zone.
Even if you thought the players Megson picked were utter shite, Gartside and/or Davies chose to spend the money.
Not that any of this really matters. Everything from Wembley onwards has been a disaster (although not an inevitable one) and now we're down.

City did their bit and in the process won the league. Despite QPR parking their bus in front of their goal. We, as usual, limply gave in to a fairly disinterested set of Stoke players.
Although another 37 league games had a big part in the relegation, what do you think was in the mind of Coyle (if anything) when he failed to play Sordell throughout the second half of the season? Many games could have been won or points won with the aid of a decent goalscorer. Instead Captain Clueless continued to play N'gog the potless and KD/Klasnic the immobile. Please explain.
Also, you apologists (you know who you are and so do I) please explain why no action was ever taken to shore up the defence by way of proper - I mean proper - defensive coaching.
The man is a disaster and we shall fail to get promoted next season with him in charge. It is my greatest wish that he resigns tonight and takes his clueless deep fried Mars bar eating cousins with him. Gartside can fcuk off. I am happy to step in as interim Chairman in the short term although I have got to the stage where I would like to retire in the near future. One more rescue job beckons.

Gartside and/or Davies also chose to sack him. In fact, it was so bad they were prepared to take the risk of still paying him and paying a new manager.Tombwfc wrote:This feels like an obvious point, but he didn't plunge us into anything, it was never his money.Lord Kangana wrote:He never relegated us because he wasn't given chance.

It seems such an obvious point, but he was sacked. Coyle wasn't.
Please try to get in to second gear and ask "why?".

Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Unfortunately my friend, it really has little to do with money and everything to do with inertia by those in charge.jaffka wrote:If you have the money to put where your mouth is, you will get my support.bedwetter2 wrote:City did their bit and in the process won the league. Ed and PG were unwilling to countenance selling a minority shareholding in the holding company a few years ago. As far as I am aware, they are still unwiiling.jaffka wrote:Really!
