Yeah, seems a bit 'kick em while they're down' silliness.

Or maybe more of a 'feeling the pressure, blame everyone/everything but yourself' type response.Verbal wrote:Yeah, seems a bit 'kick em while they're down' silliness.

Re: end of season party
Or maybe it's true, the players have let the club down
Not that the manager hasn't
Not that the manager hasn't
Re: end of season party
Or maybe General Manneheim is making it all up and Coyle actually high-fived the entire squad before belting out a rendition of My Way.
We'll just never know.

Yeah but you never kick your players in public.....Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Or maybe it's true, the players have let the club down

The fitness thing was obvious all season, I hope he fires off the fitness and conditioning coach and gets someone better in. Cos we were always knackered for the last 15 minutes of games.

Re: end of season party
He didn't name players. I'd rather he expressed disappointment than contention.
And yep, I agree – I'd have the fitness coach hoofed out. And a new No.2. And a new first-team coach. And the vast majority of the free agents. Year f*ckin' Zero.

Re: end of season party
Does this guy ever blame himself? Even a little bit?
HE is responsible for player conditioning. Our club should have institutionalised the excellence in sports science that Big Sam built. Thicko and Megson have probably pissed away one of our competitive advantages, just to give jobs to a tin pot team from Burnley.
Yeah of course we're all happy that Fab is back and living a healthy life, but it's pure Coyle to use that to gloss over our dire season. Especially if Coyle had actually played Muamba in the first half of the season we might not have been so hopeless.

Nixon has just tweeted at a few people that we won't be bringing anyone in, I guess maybe apart from the Chelsea loan. So we may need to rethink how many we can afford to release....Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:He didn't name players. I'd rather he expressed disappointment than contention.

True, dat. And when he picked him, he subbed him, and we lost. We lost points that lost us our top-flight status far more than a questionable penalty yesterday.50sQuiff wrote:Especially if Coyle had actually played Muamba in the first half of the season we might not have been so hopeless.

Re: end of season party
This is the same Nixon who also tweeted that Muamba would be back in training before the end of April is it?

He wrote an article saying that medically he'd be cleared to train then yes, but I guess there is a lot more to it than that. Including whether he's mentally ready and of course whether he is prepared to lose 5M quid to play football again.CrazyHorse wrote:This is the same Nixon who also tweeted that Muamba would be back in training before the end of April is it?

Ah christ, it's Nixon Time again...BWFC_Insane wrote:Nixon has just tweeted at a few people that we won't be bringing anyone in, I guess maybe apart from the Chelsea loan. First job is to cut your overheads, and as Nixon has tweeted, payroll will drop almost as much as income. Fat load of chance that Sean Davis, Ricardo Gardner, Robbie Blake, Paul Robinson will still p-p-p-pick up a payslip. Zat Knight might fluke one due to defensive depth problems, but whatever he was on needs halving. Petrov and Klasnic not the men for this division, and Steinsson's position is covered. Jussi needs to ask for as little as a Mike Pollitt might. There's only Sam Ricketts that I'd strive to keep, and with a wage bill cut by that much, we'll have room to bring others in. I'd be amazed if we don't sign three players this summer.
It might not feel like it at the mo but we have a strong position here, especially if we have potential replacements lined up. There'll be a lot of players available, so let's balance the necessities.

Knight slunk off without applauding the fans and had a big grin on his face towards the end. You also have to bear in mind that the majority of the Bosmans aren't Coyle signings. He played them, to a greater or lesser extent, but he didn't choose them. This summer he can mould the squad more to his desire. That might make some shudder...
Re: end of season party
Knight was one of the first to applaud the fans at the game and I didn't notice him smiling, or are you talking about the party? I don't have it in for him as much as some do, but I'd quite like to see him "slink off" all the same.BWFC_Insane wrote:Knight slunk off without applauding the fans and had a big grin on his face towards the end. Talking about the pitch. He was grinning away at that late corner.50sQuiff wrote:Knight was one of the first to applaud the fans at the game and I didn't notice him smiling, or are you talking about the party? Then he definitely walked straight off after. I think he may have been turned round, but through the beer haze just remember him trying to get away quick!
Re: end of season party
Now you've tipped me into depression stage, DSB. The prospect of a team assembled solely by Coyle is absolutely spine-chilling.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:You also have to bear in mind that the majority of the Bosmans aren't Coyle signings. If i were earning as much as he does for being a shit footballer, i'd be constantly grinning too.
Re: end of season party
I was doing some quite serious drinking at this event so don't remember it all but re: PG and OC
Phil spoke emotionally first up, it was obviously difficult for him.. He spoke candidly about us not being good enough this year, but confirmed Coyle will be manager next season (although he had to considering Coyle was the next speaker!). Again made mention of Eddie Davies and spoke about Muamba of course.
Coyle spoke well as he always does.. More talk about younger players and youth team players coming through (the plan). I didn't think it was particularly harsh on the existing lot, but it was assumed that a few of them will be off, as we know.. The jist just as you'd expect around coming back better next season, what else could it be. I wasn't expecting a personal apology for our set piece defending.
Bogdan won it by the way
