I saw some rumourage a few days ago that he may be off to Motherwell. Don't see him as Champion's League material.
His Mrs is Scottish, and homesick - so sounds feasible.

So from that Nixon article heres the jist...

Gone: Robinson, Klasnic, Jaaskelainen, S.Davis, Blake, Gardner, Miyaichi, Tuncay, Boyata
Potentially gone/staying: Steinsson, Petrov, Knight, NRC
Most likely to stay: Kevin Davies
Staying Until Further Notice: Holden, Chungy, Vela, Riley

Wouldn't mind keeping Gardner on a pay as you play deal, but we've gotta get rid sooner or later so now is probably a good enough time as any (still the idea of having a player around who genuinely cares about the club is always a good thing). Klasnic i'm sad to see go but can understand why. I'll miss Steinsson if he goes. Glad to keep SKD based on recent performances but i'm not sure how effective he'll be next season.

On Ricky G, to be fair to the club they gave him his sympathy shag this time last year. I guess in that year alone he's earned more than any of us ... with the exception of mummywciec .... will in the next 10.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Any testimonials flying about for any of the likes of Riccy or Jussi, do we think?

Plus £5m on our loan signings?!

Tuncay who seemed to be as popular with Coyle as Sordell, and hardly ever played.

Kakuta and Miyachi were pretty similar, showed some decent flashes early on then faded terribly, is this to do with our coaching compared to where they came from?

Boyata might just about be classed as a mild success, due to providing cover at times to such a stretched defence. But I still feel we unsettled the defence at the start of the season, as we chopped and changed trying to fit him in, for no other reason than we'd just signed him.
Presumably hat'd be the same coaching that did such a terrible job on Wilshire and Sturridge then?

My money is on Boyata not making it at City, with a slow and steady decline down the leagues. Probably starting at, for sake of argument, West Ham or Villa. Ditto Kakuta. Miyachi is perfectly suited to staying at Arsenal, as he has no notion of the phrase "end product".

Agree with that. However, LK you must concede that there are serious doubts on OC's "eye for a player" given we've wasted £5M on that lot plus his monetary signings that have been less than impressive so far.....

Its a concern.....

Especially when you consider Todd's saving grace was his ability to pick talent....

Reo Coker, Holden, Wheater for a combined fee of £1.8m? Thats £1m less than Shittu. I'd say he's doing a stirling job with the money at his disposal.

Wheater cost more than that but whatever. Thats a very selective picture. (And Wheater has yet to convince me really)

The 10M quids worth of Coyle signings sat on the bench on Sunday also tell a very different tale.

He's definitely NOT maximised his resources.

If we were to tally it up there are definitely more minuses than pluses. And the worrying thing is the minuses are the most expensive ones.....

hmmm... Megson's last game was a 2-2 draw against Hull...

starting lineup:
Jaaskelainein, Steinsson, Knight, Cahill, Robinson, Chung-Yong Lee, Muamba, Cohen, Taylor, Davies, Klasnic.

Elmander was on the bench... I've forgotten how much he cost - can you remind me?

Wouldn’t go so far as to say there have been more misses than hits. Holden, Wheater, Petrov, Reo-Coker, Eagles, and Ream have all been good signings. You are right though that the more he spends, the worse he seems to do. Alonso, Ngog, and Sordell have been expensive disappointments so far. They might come good but we were not in a position to let players develop over the season; we needed instant impact.

QPR got that with Cisse and that is a major reason we are down.

I'm not convinced our coaching had much to do with the success of Wilshire and Sturridge. They arrived here as almost-finished products, but regular first-team football in the Premiership was all they needed, and we were able to provide it.

If your assessment of the fate of those three ex-loanees is correct, then they were duff loans from the off, and a bad gamble for £5m (including Tuncay too). If it's incorrect, then we should have got more out of them during their spell here.

We played Hibs at the Reebok. The Hibbies went a bit mad... Ran into the home end and smashed in a front shop on Middlebrook.. OOOH
