God knows. It's been quiet on him.

Young Blakey has a contract....
With all of the talk around Bolton Wanderers cutting players, it's good to see that Owen Coyle's youth policy is still in full swing and is giving talented youngsters a chance to prove themselves. Adam Blakeman hasn't made much of an impression on the first team outside for a brief Carling Cup appearance. Blakeman was brought on as a substitute in Bolton's 2-1 win against Macclesfield early in the season. He was also named to the bench but unused in Bolton 2-3 loss to Manchester City early in the season.

I think he and Davies were sorted before the Stoke game.......he better stay, because I think he's exactly what we'll need.boltonboris wrote:God knows. It's been quiet on him.

Agreed.
I forgot about Blakeman. Did he play LB against Macc? He looked excellent in that game. Kellett is supposed to be the business too, he's a Left Back.
Maybe that's a position we don't need to strengthen. Especially if Alonso doesn't get sent down.. Whenever this trial is?!

Ah. And right backs, don't forget.Jez wrote:No no thats strikers, the rules state a minimum of 3 on the benchbedwetter2 wrote:But surely all elite teams in the Barclays Premier League need a minimum of 10 wingers?Jez wrote:Reading have signed McCleary from forest
Only reason I mention this is because hes a winger and it makes them a lot less likely to chase petrov

Feck knows what we're going to do with only 5 subs permitted in the Championship!!bedwetter2 wrote:Ah. Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok
i mentioned Bertrand earlier in the thread but would be difficult with him being in the first team now as backup for Cole. I'd try and get him regardless if we have this Chelsea loan and play Ricketts elsewhere... Maybe Cb with Ream.boltonboris wrote:If Ricketts can't agree a new deal what about a loan for this Bertrand lad from Chelsea?

You know the rule bish, PSG.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Just think now we're Championship we can still loan people until March... how big is the transfer thread going to get then!!

Even so could still be a great signing if romeu doesnt come (which seems very very likely)BWFC_Insane wrote:Good call on Bertrand, but I thought Ricketts was one of those that was pretty much sorted already?boltonboris wrote:If Ricketts can't agree a new deal what about a loan for this Bertrand lad from Chelsea?
Would allow us to shift ricketts to right/centre back and would give us better cover than alonso who might be in a spanish prison anyway

I thought he was out-of-contract in the summer (i.e. now) but he's not apparently.Jez wrote:Would allow us to shift ricketts to right/centre back and would give us better cover than alonso who might be in a spanish prison anyway
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

I thought the contract allowed Real Madrid to buy him back after 2 seasons if they wanted, not the end of the contract.Armchair Wanderer wrote:I thought he was out-of-contract in the summer (i.e. now) but he's not apparently.Jez wrote:Would allow us to shift ricketts to right/centre back and would give us better cover than alonso who might be in a spanish prison anyway

will do, ta (and HP's badge). They're good lads and we're getting them to loads around the Euros.Dr.Karl wrote:DSB whoever was behind this piece send on my congratulations. Had a reet good laugh at that.
Brilliantly, sometimes people think it's straight news. They did a piece on Gartside accidentally offering Steinsson an 18,000-year contract and it got picked up by German tabloid Bild as real... Got some proper traffic that day...!

Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok
Disagree, dude. Yer big clubs still loan out players to tier-two sides - Henri Lansbury has spent the season at West Ham, etc - but reasonably enough it tends to be players who are a bit behind the level of a Sturridge or a Wilshere. Mind, should still be ale to do a job...Bruce Rioja wrote:Indeed. I imagine that any future loans will be on a try-before-you-buy type arrangement from lower league clubs rather than us blooding fledgelings for the great and the good.bobo the clown wrote:I suspect this level of loan went out of the window when Sunday's game finished.
Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok
Chelsea loan could be the level of say Bertrand or Bruma, me thinks
Pfffft.
