7 days of the elec cig and the results:

No use being less than totally truthful, so I admit I was a 25 a day smoker ( occasionally more depending on circumstance) up to last Monday, and have been for many years. There was a fair period in the distant past when 60 a day was the norm.
In the last seven days I've never had more than 6 per day, a couple of days 5, and one day 4. That's 38 smokes against 175 previously. Not easy, I'll readily admit, but it's got me a positive start. Happy enough with that.

Indeed yes, and I'm trying hard to be positive We don't go out much and won't be going away this year. Cost was a big incentive to try and stop.

good on you - that's one big habit-change to be making... :oyea:

I just looked up the price of ciggies - and I had no idea they were so expensive!!!

the NHS smoking cost calculator puts 25 a day - at today's prices - at about £281 per month!!!

Done the St Bruno Man thing way back, and the Miguel Angel Jiminez too. Pipe smokers are in the same category as lepers these day. Anyway, enough now till next week.

Well done TD, keep it up! I was a 20-40 a day man. The money I saved when I quit paid for UEFA cup trips to Guimaraes, Madrid and Munich.

I may have mentioned this before so forgive me, but it reinforces the point well made by the bish.

But will away trips to Millwall, Barnsley and Hull have quite the same motivation?!

yeah... I can see how an arsenal fan would have the idea that football doesn't really exist outside the premiership...

 Definitely after Caps.

I quit at 38 and started running to get fit 12 months later. Shortly after I quit some friends of mine were doing a race for life programme and I ran a mile with them. I was so fooked I vowed I would get better and it stemmed from there.
