Re: Is Bogdan really any better than Jussi??
The 3 games that you mention, Bodgan in net had no bearing on the result.
We won 1 of them and the other 2 we shipped 5(?) and 4 respectively.
Bodgans inclusion had no bearing on our league position.

Re: Is Bogdan really any better than Jussi??
The 2 keepers had almost identical goals conceeded per minute
as for goals outside the area
Jussi conceeded one every 270 minutes
Bogdan one every 225 (He conceeded 2 more)
Boggers made more saves per minute, and had a higher save percentage. So maybe some of jussis stats could be attributed to having gaz
Basically the stats show there was essentially feck all between them
edit: Should note these are prem stats, bogdans stunning performance against tottenham in the cup is not included

If you watch Bogdan you can see how nervous he is , which im sure will change the longer he keeps the shirt but a relegation fight was not the time to do it.
He had a shocker against Chelsea , dropped cross after cross against Blackburn and did his party trick , the easy take spill to the feet of the striker against spurs along with many others that gave him the comentators tag of mistake a game granted many of his mistakes he did get away with.
Would many other prem managers have gone with youth over experience in a relegation fight ? I do accept Bogdan has potential to get better and he did get away with many of his mistakes but it was just another stupid Coyle decision.
All that said there is no point going back to Jussi now , so Bogdan gets the nod for me in the championship but a relegation fight is not a place to let your keeper learn his trade !

I still think selling AAH for £4m was a good piece of business.
Sadly, I'm yet to be convinced that the incoming money was spent wisely, but hey-ho.

Agree with u, would do the same for that offer. Money not spend wisely, and oc realky sucks in making the best of the situation decisions.

Completely agree on that score.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:I still think selling AAH for £4m was a good piece of business.

Bogdan is better than Jussi was at the same ago IMHO (in fact Jussi had only just had his first season in the first team at the same age and was dropped(?) in favour of Steve Banks) which is certainly a good sign if he keeps on the right track.

Jussi ruptured his cruciates and we got Banks in on loanLeyther_Matt wrote:Completely agree on that score.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:I still think selling AAH for £4m was a good piece of business.

I'd have Bogdan + Ngog over AAH + No Ngog personally.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:I still think selling AAH for £4m was a good piece of business.

Am I the only person who rates N'gog? He's 24, has more natural ability than most we've seen at our club and I reckon he'll fill his boots in the Championship

no - you're not... I think it this season could be the making of him... I think he'll relish the extra space and time he is afforded...boltonboris wrote:Am I the only person who rates N'gog? (but - bear in mind that I thought most seasons would be "Vaz Te's season"!)

Not 100% now you mention it, but that was in 2000/2001 when we got Matt Clarke on loan, wasn't it?boltonboris wrote:Jussi ruptured his cruciates and we got Banks in on loanLeyther_Matt wrote:Completely agree on that score.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:I still think selling AAH for £4m was a good piece of business.

For me its a confidence thing with Ngog.. He needs to be more comfortable shooting. He might be a better bet as a wide forward in a 433 as well. Either way I'm more confident in his ability than I am in the ability of our coaching staff to get the best out of him.

Yeah, Clarke was our 'keeper in the playoff final against Preston.

Re: Is Bogdan really any better than Jussi??
I always felt spoiled having Jussi in goal, regardless of how we played, he tended to do some stellar things in a game, which is why it was difficult to watch Bogdan take over the number one jersey, but if you look at the stats he hasn't been bad at all and certainly wasn't the reason we had such an ordinary season.

I think "shite" is the word you were looking for.

Honestly, shite is probably as much of an understatement as ordinary.Sponge wrote:AussieTrotter wrote:I always felt spoiled having Jussi in goal, regardless of how we played, he tended to do some stellar things in a game, which is why it was difficult to watch Bogdan take over the number one jersey, but if you look at the stats he hasn't been bad at all and certainly wasn't the reason we had such an ordinary season.
