Of course a huge offer for any player changes things, but I believe OC, PG when they have repeatedly said we don't want to sell, have no need to, and want to keep this squad together.

We are lucky that we have managed to save so much on the wage bill by releasing players.
The club has shown great organisation so far in planning for the next season, lets hope that it continues.

We are certainly looking in a far better position than the dingles whose infighting is still continuing.
Aye appointing Coyle to make sure we went down worked a treat!

But if Lee wants to leave?
He's not said he wants to so far. I think players wanting to leave is played up a bit too. Unless they are trouble makers then you can keep them. Cahill clearly 'wanted' to leave for a bigger club but we kept him till the time it was right for the club to sell him.

Rarely are players such shits as to force a Curcic situation.

Given the opportunity a few days ago he don't seem to say he wanted to stay.
Not what was reported anyway.

"I haven't thought about my future yet," Lee told The Bolton News.

"The season has just finished and I just want to take some holiday now. I'm not going to hurry to think about my future because we have a few months before next season, but I can say now that I am a Bolton Wanderers player."

Promotion target

The former FC Seoul star admitted he had not prepared for relegation but Coyle reassured the team that they would make a swift return to the top flight.
"I couldn't imagine that we are going down to the Championship. And I didn't expect that when we started the season," he said.

"But it has happened. It could be much better if we stayed in the Premier League, but I couldn't do anything because I was injured.

"I'm fully fit now, but I will keep training for next season.

"On our last day of the season the manager said we have many young, talented players and we can give a good performance in the Championship, so we can come back into the Premier League next season."
That's what he said. To be honest there is nothing in there to suggest anything other than he is staying. He may want to hedge his bets, but either way it's not in his control.

I don't think he's a trouble maker. The club will get whatever they value him as, and seem quite prepared to do that even with a year left on his deal. Reading the last sentence does that sound like the words of someone expecting to be away? Not to me!

Looks very, very non-committal to me... the merest sniff of a chance and he'll be off. West Ham?

Ugh, I'd hate to sell Lee but I suspect he won't extend his contract as he can get a better paying deal at plenty of other clubs. May be best to cash in. Hopefully we've learned something from the Cahill saga.

I guess the question is, is whatever's offered for Lee either now or in January going to be sufficient enough for us to sell given that doing so would harm our promotion chances, and it might be deemed as worthwhile keeping him and even letting him go on a free given that the financial benefits of promotion would be greater than the fee received for Lee combined with not getting promoted. You never know...he might even sign a new contract...

Most players would be off at the merest sniff of a chance to a premiership club on better wages. Thats a reality. But Chungy is under contract and as has been said repeatedly by PG and OC we don't have to sell, don't want to sell and won't be selling barring "wunder offers". So if someone comes along and puts £10M down for LCY then yes we'll probably sell. But because it will be right for the club, not because LCY wants to go.

All he's done there is avoid an outright statement either way. But the hint from that is he still says "we" and talks about being a Bolton player and also about the challenges for next season.

I'd say there is more there to suggest he's staying than to suggest anything else.

If he's been watching the Sordell saga he won't be coming here! More so with the old timer being offered another 12 months!

Could do worse than Simon Church, strong lad, reported Liverpool were interested in him before the reign of king Kenny.

Now THAT is good to read.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".
