That program is only topped by the stupidity of people on those ones where they decide they want to live abroad and get to look round properties abroad, or try it out.

Usually the whole 'oooo we went to Spain once on holiday and just loved it, we are so sick of Britain and we want to move out'.

Then after a week ' we didn't realise that we'd have to learn some rudimentary form of Spanish. Roger is really struggling to get plumbing work when all he can say is 'dos beers please' loudly. We also didn't realise that we'd miss the family and friends we've left behind. And we've also just figured out that we will still have to work to make money here just as before, we thought in Spain it was all siestas and shit'.

They're back home within a fortnight!
Even worse - those families who go to New Zealand and say "Ooh it's such an outdoors life here, you can go cycling, hiking and kayaking" - like you cant do that in the UK with an almost identical climate!

Angry, gutted, heartbroken. I've always wanted a night at Ronnie Scotts in London and in July, the Average White Band (Without doubt the best live entertainers Ive ever seen - 4 times) are on for a week...................the one week my other half can't get time off work and the week most of my music loving mates are on holiday. Bloody typical!

I may have to sulk until I find a way round this, now where's the icon with a big bottom lip sticking out?

Think I got caught by a speed camera on the way home tonight. One of them sneaky ones poking out of the back of a van window.

Not sure if they'll consider it a reasonable excuse but I was driving through Top o'th Brow so I'm hoping they might be a bit sympathetic

It might depend on whether you were driving away from Bury or not...

the government's new plan to trap and capture buzzards, keep them in captivity and destroy their nests, in order to protect pheasant shoots - where buzzards take a few of the young birds...

the pheasant is a non-native bird - released into the British countryside by the million purely so that people can shoot them.

Stupidity. Mine.

Took the dog for a walk this morning. He has a habit of picking things up,twigs etc and wanting to play. Normally I get him to drop anything by throwing a biscuit for him to chase. Today he had a piece of tape in his mouth and wouldn't part with it. Not wanting him to swallow it I got hold of it and pulled. Big mistake. When he has something it's his and, for a small dog he can be quite aggressive about it. We always tell kids never to try to take things off him for that reason.

Anyway, I now have a thumb and two fingers plastered up where he bit them, one quite deeply, blood everywhere, trousers, handkerchief covered in it. My own fault entirely, but a worrying trait in the breed. If he ever bit a child, he's gone.

Nopotism in the media World .... most particularly in this case ;

ZOE BALL

I like 'Pop Quiz' on the Ken Bruce show on R2. If I'm in, or in the car at 10.30am I always try to listen in.

Normally get between 15-21 points, though have had 33 & the very next time 3.

Whenever he has his frequent, thouhgh hardly Woganesque, breaks the replacement of choice is Zoe Ball. I dread it. She is never relaxed on the show, condescending and trite, her deep breaths between phrases threaten decibel limits ... but her ineptitude when it comes to pressing a couple of fckg switches in legendary.

Today, she bettered herself. Over the 11am news she pressed the 'play' for the upcoming song. Not for a second or so, but a full minute. During this she bellowed "hello ?!?!" across the airwaves too.

Why the b-hell does she get the gig. Any one of us lot could do it better.

Grrrr.

Sarah Cox .... a bridesmaid at Ball's wedding.

Said that the Queen Mother "smelt of wee" & now has an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Bolton for contributions to broadcasting. Whether these 2 fact coincide I''m uncertain.

That's her. Has a gob on her like a navvy. Chums and I used to frequent said establishment of a Friday evening to be met with such delights as "Are you c*nts fecking finished on the pool table?" and "Go on, sup up and feck off". Charming.

Mate of mine, Jim Hamer, was landlord of The Pinaepple for a while. Moved on to be steward at Heaton Cricket Club later. In your time? Just curious.

This young lady also has an honorary doctorate from the University of Bolton.

And very well deserved it is too.
