Club does something smartly and everyone is up in arms? WTF? CH called it right, in the middle of a massive wage bill cull you don't trumpet a crocked player signing a new contract. It would be moronic.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Some haven't had their arms down for months. It's like watching the Arsenal back four sponsored by Right-Guard and Smith & Wesson

Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok
The Chung yong lee situation has really got me annoyed.
I am not one for critising the club but as a loyal Bolton fan I worry about the club perhaps more then I humanly should and I know I'm not alone, so all this talk the past couple of days about Lee being out of contract at the next season and a Turkish club interested in him were the manager has a very good relationship with the player, has really got me rattled.
Now it appears Lee signed a new contract around the time he suffered that horrific injury and that's the excuse the club has given as to why they failed to announce it!
Why would they not announce it, surly they know that alough it was a career threatening injury the fans would assume a player of Lee's fitness and age that he would make a full recovery therefore we would welcome the news that one of our best young players is tied down to the club after the bad news of the injury.
Like I said I am not one for calling the club because I find it hard to find faults with something I care for so much but I'm afraid the club owe the fans a serious explanation over this situation.

They don't have to tell us anything if they don't want to.

Agreed. He's on a long term contact. We won't be selling him by all accounts, nor anyone else.Lord Kangana wrote:Club does something smartly and everyone is up in arms? WTF? Holden has said he's staying on twitter.
Not much to be upset about at the minute (other than the idiot in charge who just relegated us, but lets forget about that for now).

The club was telling our 97 imminently out of contract players that no contract negotiations would take place until the end of the season. Presumably they didn't want to have Zat Knight's agent coming back with "Well LEE just got a new contract . . ."hi there, i'm craig wrote:The Chung yong lee situation has really got me annoyed.
Gretar Steinsson or Ivan Klasnic may have the right to be annoyed but I'm not sure you do.

Faintly amused that Craig, having spent an eight-page thread (which I read in one undigestible chunk) repeatedly telling everybody that all was well with Coyle and the club, now appears top be having a wet benny over us re-signing one of our most saleable assets.
Like, y'know, huh?

O I like it, all I well with the club, as in aint as bad as everyone is making out with coyle and the squad.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Faintly amused that Craig, having spent an eight-page thread (which I read in one undigestible chunk) repeatedly telling everybody that all was well with Coyle and the club, now appears top be having a wet benny over us re-signing one of our most saleable assets.

I am over the moon Lee looks like he is staying, but why no announcement at the time, apparently the contract extension was done pre-season before the injury, I'm just very surprised this has happened they way it has. Just because I dont feel the need to jump on the bandwagon and lay into Coyle or the club doesn't mean this whole situation hasn't left me asking questions!

Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok
A week on, I've finally found time to peruse that (frequently incorrect) lost of Bosmen posted a few pages back. Some thoughts:
GK
If Jussi starts thumping the table, we could need someone experienced but cheap. Options:
* Andy Marshall (released by Villa, ex Norwich, now 37)
* Marcus Hahnemann (released by Everton, 40, Yankee!)
* Stuart Taylor (Man City so local, career benchwarmer, still only 31)
* Carlo Nash (Stoke, 38, another bench-botherer, Bolton-born…)
* Mike Pollitt (Wigan, 40, Bolton-born)
DF
* Need a big bruising centre-back? There's always Danny Shittu, freshly released by good old QPR. #carefulwhatyouwishfor
* Carlos Cuellar (Villa) would be excellent, but I rather doubt it: at 30 he'll get a better offer.
* Surprised Fulham have let RB Stephen Kelly slip out of contract, but it's no concern of ours.
* More likely: Norwich releasee Zak Whitbread. US-born centre-back. Just turned 28. Speaks same language as Ream.
* Joe Mattock, ex-Leicester left(wing)back, just turned 22, give the bugger a trial.
MF
* Danny Guthrie (25) is so far up Coyle's street, he's head of the Residents' Association.
* Or there's Tom Soares, weren't we in for him when he moved from Palace to Stoke four years ago? Not under Coyle, obvs, but he might fit the template: just 25 but with second-tier experience, six-footer, can play wide and score goals…
* QPR have released Hogan Ephraim: 24-y-o West Ham graduate, either-side winger/striker, 5ft 9in, England U16/U17/U18/U19 caps, you can see where this is going.
* Paul Scharner, very versatile, but at 32 would be short-term.
* Hendry Thomas? Hard-working defensive midfielder? Shows how far we've come...
