How the feck LCY not being out of contract next summer is anything but brilliant news is so far beyond me as to not be worth bothering to try to understand as there isn't enough possible thinking time to comprehend it.
it's duplicitous skulduggery - a serious breach of how things should be done and we deserve a serious explanation. Gartside OUT!!!

Re: Chung yong signed until 2015
The contract was signed during pre season last summer. I suspect it was to be announced but perhaps his injury meant they felt it best not to.
Quite frankly who the feck cares? He's signed up and staying or making a huge profit for the club. I suspect staying.
Great news, let's just hope he's back to his best.

Yes, no doubt, it's the best news we've heard so far this season.

Let him stay... Let him recover fully... Let him tear the heart out of championship defences...
Now, crucially, get Zat Knight signed, and another central defender, we won't see Wheater this side of Christmas, maybe this side of Easter... get Jussi on the books or another experienced keeper, and soon, this is really urgent...
Full back positions... Ricketts staying is good news... but, the rest... ?

What's the point of an experienced keeper when bogdan will play anyways?William the White wrote:Let him stay... Let him recover fully... Let him tear the heart out of championship defences...

When Bogdan gets injured in the first game of the season who will we play? Or do you know for sure this will not happen? Neither will he lose form?
Who are the full backs you really fancy for the promotion fight?
Sorry - you are just joshin, aren't you, hey? Just realised...

Re: Chung yong signed until 2015
I’m fine with Ricketts and Mears and Riley on the right. Ricketts is capable on the left but I think we’re going to need another left back given the questions around Alonso’s ability and . . . err . . . freedom.
Joe Mattock maybe?
Joe Mattock maybe?

dont re sign knightmare it will be one of the worst decisions the club has ever made

Re: Chung yong signed until 2015
It will not. It is close to essential. We need a centre back a cut above championship standard. We have one. Knight has spent his entire career there. For a reason. That reason being he is better than championship standard.bwfcdan94 wrote:dont re sign knightmare it will be one of the worst decisions the club has ever made
Not necessarily assured of Prem football with most clubs, and spent time on our bench last season, but as good, and probably better, than we can hope to get to replace him if we are to compete for promotion next season...
In my opinion...

I agree though, we should try to keep him. He'll be OK in the Championship and it saves us the trouble of finding a replacement.
Re: Chung yong signed until 2015
in my opinion there is a list of former bwfc centre backs i would have instead of him faye, meite, andy OB,cahill, livesly, wheater, ben haim............the list goes on. a teacher at my school was a fulham season ticket holder the whole time zat played for them and he said zat was so useless he made alain goma look like bobby moore

Faye, O'Brien, and Ben Haim actually.
They say you should never go back but if we could get Ben Haim to accept wages that bear some resemblance to reality he could be decent cover all across the back line.

I don't care what way the club handled this, as long as he's under contract now we shouldn't have the same problem we did with Cahill. Thank goodness someone at the club has business sense
Re: Chung yong signed until 2015
im just making a point but faye has been released and i think meite a free agent. wheater obviously injured

Get a loan in. We can loan 5, and I think down there you can get an emergency keeper loan on top.William the White wrote:oh, ok...BWFC_Insane wrote:What's the point of an experienced keeper when bogdan will play anyways?William the White wrote:Let him stay... We also have two young and promising keepers in Lynch and Lainton.
We are going to be in the championship, I don't think having another expensive keeper on the books is worth it.
As for full backs, Ricketts and Alonso on the left, Mears and Riley on the right.
Ricketts is good enough at that level, Mears also proven there.
I think Riley will be fine down there too.
Heck even Alonso will do a job in that division on occassion.
Centre half and a beast in Centre midfield are the priorities for me.

Danny Livesey? Really? Are you just picking names off the internet?
Ben Haim's ship has sailed – he's done nowt since he left. And he's (still!) on £35kpw at Pompey.
There may be - hell, there are - better defenders than Zat Knight walking the earth, but we need more than one and I'd not be in tears to see him re-sign (on terms beneficial to us). Presumably the lack of (public) offers from elsewhere works well for us financially, if not exactly being a ringing endorsement of his ability.
As for the goalie - I don't think it's great to have Bogdan and kids. I'd like a cheap, reliable, professional older head - a Kevin Poole de nos jours - whom we can turn to in a shortish injury/suspension situation but also can help teach the kids about preparation. They won't get that from a loanee.

Exazctly. Laziest sod on earth. He was shite in his last 6 months for us knowing full well that he was off at the end of the season, and has subsequently done absolutely nowt since the pay-days rolled in at Chelsea, Pompey and West Ham. If we could get him to play like he did when he was living on no points soup and dust then great - but we/he won't.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: Ben Haim's ship has sailed – he's done nowt since he left.
