It is only June and the season doesn't start till September, or am I wrong in thinking OC and the directors might just be weighing options right now?
Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?

Are there any other clubs who have been very active in the market?

It starts in August....TANGODANCER wrote:It is only June and the season doesn't start till September, or am I wrong in thinking OC and the directors might just be weighing options right now?
However, people are judging it as though its a premiership season. There are more games, but the quality demands are lower.
Individual players like Holden (if fit), LCY, Petrov, Eagles, heck even Sordell and Ngog can win matches at that level.
We need 2 centre backs, a tackling midfield player and a ressie keeper.
Maybe a 4th striker.
We're not far off for championship level.
We'd be millions of miles off for the premiership.

2 mids if possible, 2 x centre halves at least one of which to be a leader cos i dont see Timbo doing that.
Then we can look at luxury players.

Didn't realise we'd stretched to employing WWE wrestlers/Hollywood actors to shore up the team now

I'd be happy with just signing two centre halves and a striker for next season... if we don't lose anyone else that is.
I wouldn't mind seeing a couple of 'been there done it' in the Championship kind of signings, some big hard bastard at centre half who could really stamp his authority and take over as captain. I think we still have a lot of Premier League style players (Lee, Petrov) and we need some Championship experience in there too.

Scottish champions Celtic are showing an interest in Magnus Okuonghae, Sky Sports understands.
A host of clubs are tracking the 26-year-old - who is set to leave League One Colchester United after his contract expired.
But a number of Championship clubs are also keen on securing his signature.
Sky Sports understands the likes of Blackburn, Bolton, Burnley, Charlton, Derby, Millwall and newly promoted Sheffield Wednesday are all keen.
Former Dagenham & Redbridge defender Okounghae has also been offered a new contract at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
"We have been contacted by a few clubs and Magnus will be considering his options over the coming weeks," his agent Leon Callendar of Straight Ace Management told Sky Sports
Never heard of him

which worried me !set to leave League One Colchester United after his contract expired.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
