Is Bogdan really any better than Jussi??

are you suggesting we should have given jussi a new contract (whatever he wanted) and dropped Bogdan?
so - your argument is that it is a great decision for West Ham to sign him at this age and put him as number one keeper in the premiership..

but it would be wrong for us to sign him at this age and put him as number one in the championship?
I have no idea whether its a great idea for West Ham or not. Don't know who else they've got coming through or what their plans are.

If Sam does the same things he did here, along similar lines, then Jussi will be a great short term option for them.

The premiership is about staying up for a year, then another.

We need to come back up and at the same time the clubs focus has shifted to younger players with potential rather than older ones.

So yes that pretty much is my argument. Based on each clubs likely objectives and long term plans.

West Ham are losing their first-choice goalkeeper and had the option to pick up, on a free, an experienced replacement well-known to the manager (and an increasing number of players).

If Bogdan were on a free he would doubtless be picked up by a Premier League club, although possibly not as first-choice goalkeeper.

I have few complaints about Bogdan being our first-choice goalkeeper last season, and even fewer about not continuing to pay one of the club's highest wages to someone who wouldn't play except in an emergency.

I thank Jussi for his service but whether or not Bogdan will ever be better, let alone now, it's time to move on.

so - to sum up - what you meant to say originally was that you agreed with me?

Money. I remember reading what Nolan and Taylor were earning at West Ham last year (will try find the link for you guys after work), frightening to say the least. Off the top of my head I think Nolan was earning £50k +
