He was, two or three years ago. Not seen much of him since.

Could be potential Gary Cahill type if im not mistaken ? Mills would be more rough around the edges though. Mid 20's has potential but hasn't nearly reached it yetohjimmyjimmy wrote:He any good, Matt Mills?

Having not seen the lad personally I do quite like the look of the deal from the perspective;
He's 25,
Had been club captain before the new managency came in,
And was valued at 5 million only a year ago, a figure which seems to have free-falled due to off the pitch reasons not on (but again I haven't seen him!)
Cheap(ish) Young(ish) and looks like he has something to prove.
'could be worse...'

Mills was rated as probably the best young defender in the Championship and someone who would likely make the step up to be a good level Premiership defender. his issues with Pearson seem to have derailed that but he's a talented lad.
From what I've seen of him, I'd love to see him partner Ream. He's better than Knight, I think.

Not saying much that is it though, The Bish is better than Knight and he hasn't played since they started the Football LeagueSmokinFrazier wrote:Mills was rated as probably the best young defender in the Championship and someone who would likely make the step up to be a good level Premiership defender. his issues with Pearson seem to have derailed that but he's a talented lad.

Naming targets is a bit nieve, especially if they're more than just enqired about ones.Relentless09 wrote:Don't usually buy the Sunday People but the man himself said there will be loads in the paper and will name another mid field target

I've probably seen Matt Mills play about half a dozen games ever, so I'm not going to pretend I know all about him. However, I'd still put forward the case for big Zat (of course, we could yet get both).
Knight's not even close to being as shite as made out on here, and at the age of 25 he was probably closing in on 100 Premier League games (and had been capped by England IIRC), not in the reserves of a mid-table Championship side. I know Mills has fallen out with the manager, but if he had even a third of Cahill's talent, shagging Pearsons wife wouldn't have been enough to see him bombed out after 1 year at a £4mil loss.
