According to the Bolton News:
WANDERERS are ready to pounce for former Blackburn Rovers midfielder Keith Andrews.
The 31-year-old is currently away with the Republic of Ireland at the European Championships but has already spoken to the club and could finalise a move this week.
Owen Coyle had been desperately trying to keep the move under wraps to avoid competition for the ball-winning midfielder, who has also had an offer from Huddersfield Town.
Andrews played at West Brom last season but was surprisingly released on a free transfer after Roy Hodgson left the Hawthorns for the England job.

ahh yes, perfectly fits in with the young talented squad theme.
I bet he was keeping it under wraps with the likes of the mighty Huddersfield sniffing around.

Would be a decent signing in my view. Not overly exciting but a wise head not afraid to mix it.

Don't know too much about Andrews other than he got slated week in and week out by Blackburn fans.
They're dirty, they're filthy, they're never gonna last.

hmm he's Reo Cockers replacement I take it. Gives Mark Davies some competition in the first team biggest ears contest.
I'll reserve judgment

Andrews had a good season last year, don't really know why West Brom got rid.

Not the most inspiring signing, but good cover.

Agree he's a good energetic box to box player (which is what we need) and would certainly shine in the championship - it just doesn't fit with Coyle's policy of only buying young playersofficer_dibble wrote:Would be a decent signing in my view. He did and that was because they thought he was w@nk.Wandering Willy wrote:Don't know too much about Andrews other than he got slated week in and week out by Blackburn fans.
A limited and average player, not one to get excited about.

If you think that he's a 'limited and average player', you obviously weren't paying much attention to his performances last season.jaffka wrote:He did and that was because they thought he was w@nk.Wandering Willy wrote:Don't know too much about Andrews other than he got slated week in and week out by Blackburn fans.

He was 'slated' by Blackburn fans because he was a Paul Ince signing from MK Dons and they're still labouring under the impression that they are a much bigger club than they actually are.
I would imagine that at 31, he'll be on relatively small wages, which is probably why we're interested in signing him short-term.

Tweets from the Oracle suggest that he thinks/knows that 2 deals will be tied up by the end of this wekk

It would appear that we have a different gage on what constitutes as quality.BL3 wrote:If you think that he's a 'limited and average player', you obviously weren't paying much attention to his performances last season.jaffka wrote:He did and that was because they thought he was w@nk.Wandering Willy wrote:Don't know too much about Andrews other than he got slated week in and week out by Blackburn fans.

Left Blackburn on a free and signed a short deal at West Brom, how comes they have not extended it?
Oh and the Blackburn fans that I know, do describe him as w@nk.
Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok
West Brom fans I spoke to after the game at the Bok thought he was a good little player, so it's swings and roundabouts. Plus he's looked very good for a limited Irish National teamjaffka wrote:It would appear that we have a different gage on what constitutes as quality.BL3 wrote:If you think that he's a 'limited and average player', you obviously weren't paying much attention to his performances last season.jaffka wrote:He did and that was because they thought he was w@nk.Wandering Willy wrote:Don't know too much about Andrews other than he got slated week in and week out by Blackburn fans.

Oh jeez! Anybody but Keith Andrews. I watched the Euros and thought, thank God he doesn't play for us. Truly truly awful. Come back Pratley. All is forgiven.

Think there was some stuff on this guy a few pages back. Linked with Reading and a couple of Italian teams (Genoa I think might have been one).TANGODANCER wrote:The People has Coyle as optimistic about signing Colombian Carlos Sanchez?

Apparently, he's coming to Bolton this week to finalise talks and have a medical. Roma could only offer him squad status...or so it reads.Worthy4England wrote:Think there was some stuff on this guy a few pages back.
