Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
am gradually clearing out the freezer/food cupboards in advance of moving house...
so - tonight's combination was:
half a pack of quorn mince
whole pack of Quorn chunks
two packets chopped tomato
an onion
sausages
hash browns
yorkshire puddings
rice
you don't get that on MasterChef!

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

I had an afternoon with Old Man Willy in the New Inn in Clitheroe, topped off with a Lamb Moglai in Anaz in Darwen and a nice train ride back to Bromley X.

Haven't been to Anaz in 10 years, or so. Still as good, Willy?

Excellent food, but the walk back up the hill to the train station was a bit depressing. nobody around except for feral kids and I must have passed 5 or 6 magnificent buildings that were just boarded up. Shame really, but probably typical of many northern towns now.

Darren's always been worse than most places locally - a real nowhere place between here and Blackburn. Property's been chep as shite round there for as far back as I can remember - but The Anaz was always a take-it-in-turns-designated-driver Sunday night nosebag destination for us. Utterly outstanding grub.Wandering Willy wrote:Excellent food, but the walk back up the hill to the train station was a bit depressing. nobody around except for feral kids and I must have passed 5 or 6 magnificent buildings that were just boarded up.
