I'm not sure what subject or what 2.1 means (though honours sounds good), but congratulations.

2:1 is a type of degree classification. So it goes (from top to bottom)

First class
2:1
2:2
Third
...
idk, unclassified?

I see, and I assume you can get 2.1 honours in a particular subject or 2.1 general. Well, it sounds pretty good (if not from Bolton Uni by all I read recently).

I think so. To be honest I can't remember. You can get a 2:1 for any general undergraduate degree, while there are different measures for various masters/phd programmes.

No matter where you went a 2:1 is still pretty good going. Certainly happy with mine, anyway. :)

Sound equivalent to what I got - Second Class Honours. Of course that was long before all this modern grade inflation...

Below a 3rd is a 'without honours' which comes 'higher' than a bif-fat F (for fail).

& btw ... "No matter where you went a 2:1 is still pretty good going.". No it's not.

It DOES matter where you got it

2:1 and 2:2 are second class (upper division) and second class (lower division).

Ok yes in terms of employment prospects and stuff...it was more a general statement that getting a 2:1 is a decent achievement.

Getting all my music on't comp organised and sorted. Bits on memory sticks, external hard-drives, in all sorts of weird and wonderful folders. All nice and organised now. Found loads of things I forgot I had.

Currently on Alicia Keys when she was beautiful, talented, great voice, great songs, all set to a either a piano or a big band. What happened?! She's still fit. She'll always have that. Well, not always.

All exams are easy these days.

In my day, I'd have been glassed with a broken bottle for getting a 2:1 in whatever shit made up degree you have TW15.

My daughter achieved a 2:1 BA Hons in English Literature at Sheffield University which was a tremendous effort at a very good university and my nephew is heading for a similar result studying Geography at St Hilda's College, Oxford. I know they're very different courses but the sheer amount of work expected at Oxford is frightening and quite frankly bears no resemblance to his friends studying Geography elsewhere. I guess what I'm sayng is a 2:1 at Oxford is probably worth a First elsewhere.

I'm happy as Mrs ST and I have arrived in Pitlochry today and I've fallen in love with the place all over again, it's simply the most picturesque countyside I've ever seen. We're staying here, http://www.riverwoodstrathtay.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and can highly recommend it as a perfect retreat. It's a B&B but it's as far away from the traditional B&B that you can get.

It does indeed look very nice, ST, though it would appear to be a bit out of my price range....

Today I'm happy because my bezzy mate's rang to say that his Mrs, this morning, gave birth a a 5lb 2oz baby girl. This would be a cause for celebration anyway, but, without going in to too much detail, having exhausted every avenue available to them they'd given up on ever being able to have children - and now they have two (one of each). :oyea: :drink: :pissed:
