L'Equipe reporting N'gog would like to leave.
Don't think there'd be any takers in the Prem...
If Wigan offered that for Lee it'd just be Dave Whelan taking the opportunity to be a prick, he's always had it in for us.

Is L'Equipe the CESM's equivalent of the Sunday Sport? There's not even a quote!

Nixon said its rubbish and caused by a bored agent, wouldn't be overly bothered if we sold him though

Reo Coker's apparently scouting around Germany for a club. If N'gog really wants out, sooner the better and give us time to get a replacement.

Translate please.
Coming only a year ago to Bolton, David N'Gog is already set to leave the Wanderers, relegated to the second division. The Frenchman counts on staying in the elite and is looking for a new club.

A perfectly good version if you ask me (which you did). If you would prefer some other more literal version it could be translated as 'Having arrived in Bolton a year ago, DN is already ready [sic]to leave the Wanderers'.thebish wrote:in what version of English would that be the translation!!!!!Montreal Wanderer wrote:Arrivé il y a un an à Bolton, David N'Gog est déjà prêt à quitter les Wanderers, relégués en deuxième division. Or someone with a fine classical education like what I done and I am a foreigner.

tis merely the difference between simply translating the words and writing actual English!

Babelfish does the former - a translator does the latter!

Shirley "Coming" can only be used by someone already installed at the club and not by some CESM hack (or, indeed, anyone else outside of the club) non?

Translations rarely mean what we (as foreigners) think they do. Spaniards wish each other "adios" ( which we regard as goodbye) when passing first thing in the morning. It's chopped from "Vaya con Dios" (go with God). Same with that most baffling of phrases: "no hay de que" which they use to mean "think nothing of it" but translated as "there is not of what". "Con grace del Dios" (with the grace of God) is another that the Spaniards use to mean "I should be so lucky". All explained by a Spanish teacher. ( and amazingly remembered by someone who forgets what he had for breakfast sometimes).Montreal Wanderer wrote:Or someone with a fine classical education like what I done and I am a foreigner.

Whatever ... if it's simply silly-season agent-speak then sobeit.
If it's accurate then I fear Msr N'Gog is in for a rude awakening as we were probably the last club to splash real cash ... in terms of both fee and wages ... on him & he has so far shown no real in-depth Premiership class. He has this season to learn how to dominate & to score freely & so re-establish his credentials. Otherwise a failure he shall be (says Yoda).

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
