Heard a completely unsubstantiated rumour about Simon Church at Reading.

No, (FWIW) I think Caps is right on both his last two points, although if they're changing employers within the country it's usually pretty easy.BWFC_Insane wrote:I think its a visa to get into the country, not a work permit. If he's an international he may well get a work permit if he's played enough games, automatically.....CAPSLOCK wrote:My only knowledge of work permits is what I've read when we've spent months chasing some kickaball to be thwarted by John Aldridge

After all, if a player leaves us to another club, they need to apply for a new permit...I think
The (initial) work permit system is there to stop Juan Foreigner blocking our good honest (EU) lads getting jobs; it would be pretty f&ckin' weird to give one without a job to go to, unless there's some way of proving truly outstanding ability within your profession - although sure that would apply more to Messi than this bloke.

I Know it's "Vital Football" but at least it's a rumour:
Bolton midfielder linked with Royals move
Bolton midfielder Mark Davies has been linked with a move to Premier League new boys Reading.
The 24-year is reportedly seeking a move away from the recently-relegated side, becoming one of Bolton's star performers in their unsuccessful Premier League campaign. The Trotters will be looking for a fee in the region of £5 million to take their key asset away from the Reebok Stadium.
Fellow Premier League sides Fulham and Liverpool are also chasing the former England U19 international, who primarily plays in central midfield. Do Reading fans think he would be a good addition to the squad, or do we have enough options in that position with the recent signing of Danny Guthrie?

I've been away and didn't know Reading had signed Guthrie.

If Sanchez has applied for a work permit, that's a good sign. You need a job offer to apply for one which means we've probably agreed a deal and the work permit is just a formality.
Has Nixon said anything about this?

Suddenly players thinking they're too good for Bolton? Coker gone, now N,gog and Mark Davies. The Cisse fella looks handy, but are we to lose any more?Riviman wrote:I Know it's "Vital Football" but at least it's a rumour:

True, but is the intent real or just rumour. Just seems a bit odd.Bruno3 wrote:Don't think we've actually lost anybody........yet
