Spent aaaaages building up the nursery furniture for our impending arrival yesterday after it was delivered. Took me hours of my precious time, more blood than necessary and countless obsceneties.

Once it was all finished, I had a bottle of beer, took a long look at it and thought.. "nice one. Life's alright"

Quite a moment for me to be honest

I'd try and take a very long look at it to be honest.

That's the fecking easy bit. It's the next 18 years that are the hard bit.

Nice one. Enjoy the peace. And the beer. You'll get precious little of either for the next few years.

Is it only me that ends up short on this stuff and that has to decide which drawer runner will have to make do with just one phillips at the back? :conf:

I had 3 glass shelves, one wooden and 2 plywood back pieces left over, along with assorted screws and brackets

Hidden them under the stairs as the missus seems happy with the end result :D

being a bit anal about this - for many years I have kept spare barrel screws and various flat-pack furniture bits in a bag in the drawer in my garage.. just in case I needed spares one day

for the FIRST TIME ever - I have needed these bits as we (or should I say - I) have dismantled and remantled (?) flat-pack furniture for the move - and some of those wee bastard twisty things that lock-tighten onto the wee bastard sticky out screw-knob things had fallen out in transit...

and... I had some that fitted!! result! (I used spare barrel screws and spare clips to hold shelves on bookcases...)

I've only been in my house for 18 months and the garage is full to busting already.

Aye. The word "garage" should be "shed". I've lived in my house for thirty years and had several cars. Not one of them has ever seen the inside of said "garage". I get in there through a side door as the main ones became a wall years ago. :(

Well, I haven't measured it or owt, but I'm pretty sure that if I ever did put the car in the garage then I wouldn't be able to get out of it. In fact, I'm not even sure that I'd be able to get the car down the side of the house. :?

I think I might have to head over to the angry thread about this! It's all that's wrong with society at large in a single post. :D
