Best Games you have seen live?
what is the best game of football you have seen live (meaning you have been in the ground when it happened)
i have got four games in mind , the first three were because of the results , these were all 2007/08 when we beat Manchester United 1-0 , that was a good day , as we had not beat them for a few years , the 1-0 vs Aletico Madrid , such a great game of football and was so glad when we scored and the 2-0 vs Sunderland when we all but stayed up that season. the fourth game was in the 2010/2011 season when we beat Spurs 4-2 at the Reebok , had everything to it - we went 3-0 up then they got 2 back and nearly got a third but we cleared it to the half way line where Davies headed it on and Petrov ran clear and scored the fourth.

Hull away back in 92ish time.
Ditto Liverpool away in the cup around that time.
Also - Leicester at the Reebok sticks out for me for pure turnaround of emotions.

Aston Villa semi final second leg - fantastic.
Reading - play off final , from the depths of despair to elation.
Liverpool at Anfield - Mcginlay and Walker , what a night.

Re: Best Games you have seen live?
So few to choose from. Maybe that great pre-season friendly in Orlando last year. Or that 3-1 Thumping to Blackpool in 86 at Burnden. Maybe that great 0-0 draw v Blackburn at the Reebok. Not the Carling Cup Final.
Maybe then it would have to be Plovdiv at the Reebok. My first Wanderers match with my Dad and Bolton's first European game.

76 Newcastle FA Cup fifth round at Burnden. 3-3.
77 away at Everton League Cup semi first leg. 1-1 Neil Whatmore.
78 1-0 away at Blackburn to win promotion. Mr F. Worthington.
Oh and the double over United in 78/9 - went to both. Mr F. Worthington bagged 2 in each game.

Memeory's going. Was there but thought it was John Byrom who scored? Got attacked by a big mob of nutters on the way out. Saved by the coppers.Wandering Willy wrote:76 Newcastle FA Cup fifth round at Burnden. 3-3.

The return leg of the League Cup semi-final v Everton was the last ever crowd of over 50,000 at Burnden.TANGODANCER wrote:Memeory's going. Was there but thought it was John Byrom who scored? Hull away.
Reading play off final.
Boro last game of the season.
Non Bolton would have to be Liverpool v Arsenal last game of the 1988/89 season. Not the best game, but certainly the most dramatic. Probably the funniest game too with all the crying scousers.

For me it has to be the Bayern Munich draw. Yes we didn't win and to say a draw is your favourite game sounds pretty shit but I wasn't even expecting us to score a goal, never mind two! All I wanted was for us to score a goal, something for us to celebrate over there and to get two and get something from the game was unthinkable at the time.
Great atmosphere and an overall brilliant trip.

Man Utd away 2000/2001 when we won 2-1. I don't think it'll ever get better than that.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

For me, probably the FA Cup quarter final last season vs Birmingham. Cracking game, cracking atmosphere.

Seem to remember a belter of a league cup tie away in Swindon's concrete cow karsi.. Can't remember the score, but it was a ding dong do with a registered blind ref who missed Fraser digby rugby tackling in the area Twice? Could have been 3-3 or 3-2 for them fjortoft was playing for them then...
