*watching the news*hi there, i'm chris wrote:Watching The Dark Knight now. Booked to see TDKR on Monday and working Friday, Saturday and Sunday so only chance to watch it is now. Can't wait til Monday.
Really wanted to watch it at the IMAX but the wait is ridiculous, so booked two VIP tickets in the xtreme screen at Vue Bury, which is pretty decent.
good luck.

Just watched the last one in Series 1 of Friday Night Lights. Beltin series and thank God Atlantic are going on to show series 2 & 3 straight after.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
I got about 6 episodes into season 1 before going back to other series I'd left. I liked it but I didn't have the urge to watch another episode right after one had finished. Will get back to it though, Netflix has all four seasons.Harry Genshaw wrote:Just watched the last one in Series 1 of Friday Night Lights. Watched 'Lars and the Real Girl' on the train last night; Not sure how such a gem has evaded before now? thought it was hysterical at first but it develops into such a poignant film, i felt guilty for laughing! original, funny and moving - Quality.
Dark Knight tonight innit.

Dark Knight is very ordinary. Just to spoil it for you.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

BBC4 doc on the death of honey bees. Scary story. Great irony that they survive better in urban environments than the countryside, where monoculture and insecticides help to kill them.
Re: What are you watching tonight?
didnt watch , but i thought they'd [scientists] had only just fairly recently figured out that its some mite that the insecticides do not kill that is causing them to 'die' . ( although mites are "spiders", whatever ).William the White wrote:BBC4 doc on the death of honey bees. Scary story. either the mite directly knackers them, or they spread a virus/parasite/something that does it . i forget what the answer were. cos i forgot where i read it.
you'd think they'll sort it soon as possible now they know what it is.

Nice one, General. It's ont' list. Happy-go-Lucky's just turned up. I might watch it when Jeremy Kyle's finished.General Mannerheim wrote:Watched 'Lars and the Real Girl' on the train last night; Not sure how such a gem has evaded before now? thought it was hysterical at first but it develops into such a poignant film, i felt guilty for laughing! original, funny and moving - Quality.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Some years ago Mrs C and I got seriously hooked on '24'. It was the box set that started us watching other box sets. It all ran out of steam after series 4 though and we stopped watching, then the Sopranos and others came along. In the absence of anything else on the shelf though we started series five a couple of night ago. Fantastic TV
I never knew there were so many terrorists in the world for Jack to take care of. Still got series six to do as well.

Batman was good for what it is, i enjoyed Killer Joe the other night infanitely more than this just as its more my type of film, but i can appreciate why fans are so hyped about it. i always get a bit lost as to just why the frig suchabody wants to destroy Gotham and who many of the supporting cast are meant to be, and i have to keep reminding myself its 'batman' when it gets corny as feck or when gaping plot holes open up - but i still loved the visuals, the action and the atmosphere. One of them i had to see to complete the trilogy. tbh i woke up this morning much fonder of it than i was leaving the cinema last night. and Catwoman is immense.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
well the thing i read seemed fairly sure it were that, although like you saw can only find an article on my browser history pointing to the insecticide being at fault. so my 'proof' has gone.

On the subject of Batman, the brother in law has booked tickets to see it at the IMAX in Laanndaannn when we're down there in a few weeks. Neither of the first 2 films appealed, so we have never watched them. The question is, do I rent the first 2 and watch those, or treat it as a standalone film and enjoy/hate it for what it is?

Poppy sounds like she'd be better off on Jeremy Kyle.General Mannerheim wrote:you will most likely fall a little bit in love with Poppy, either that or want to garrote-wire the bitch!Bruce Rioja wrote:Nice one, General. Re: What are you watching tonight?
you have to watch the others first, theres a few bits were you go "oh, that from x film before.. i wondered what that were / that makes sense now"Burnden Paddock wrote:On the subject of Batman, the brother in law has booked tickets to see it at the IMAX in Laanndaannn when we're down there in a few weeks. what youre proposing to do is a bit like watching "Star Wars" and watching darth vader go " i'm your dad, pal " after not seeing the first one or the first half of the second.
spoilers natch, but who's not seen star wars ?
although this was known as "pretend hipsters pretend to not know about mega popular things while wearing glasses with no perscription in coz they dont need 'em" in our house.
