In answer to the question 'who ate all the pies' , the answer is mark davies. One one, petrol penalty. Otherwise awful so far

Re: Pre-season 2012
Petrov nearly grabs a second. Crewe goalie spanks the ball away with his hand. What a save!

Re: Pre-season 2012
We have 4 injured centre backs, Alonso and Ricketts are playing in the middle
Re: Pre-season 2012
I think/hope they are more niggling injuries rather than keeping them out for too long?Relentless09 wrote:We have 4 injured centre backs, Alonso and Ricketts are playing in the middle

That'll be down to the wage cuts for being in the Championship.Bijou Bob wrote:Fairly strong team out and to be fair, one or two look like they've lost a few pounds

Nonsense, its anything but give Coyle credit!
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: Pre-season 2012
I thought WTF when Alonso was moved to the centre and Riley went on as left back. However the pair of them acquitted themselves pretty well.

Re: Pre-season 2012
Superb penalty from Petrov (not sure that it didn't hit the guy's shoulder though). He was a cut above everyone else on the pitch. OK, it was a friendly, but without him there would have been virtually no goal threat. I can't recall SKD or Pratley creating any decent chances and within the team as a whole (Petrov aside) there seemed to be a reluctance to strike at goal. Pratley was particularly poor for the 85 minutes or so he was on.
Chungy had some nice touches and worked quite well with Mears and I was impressed with Vela when he came on, despite a couple of errors. Andrews had a fair game. A lot of balls out from the back came through him but a many of moves broke down in the final third when in front of goal. Mark Davies seems as though he's put on a few pounds over the summer which may explain why he played the full 90 mins.

Re: Pre-season 2012
To go with a cliche, it was certainly a game of 2 halves with the whites stepping up a gear in the second half and keeping posession well. Petrov was outstanding and I thought Wylde did enough to impress when he came on, linking well with Riley. Vela looked comfortable on the ball and sprayed some nice passes about.
Mark Davies has allegedly been fined by the club for returning for training over weight. He certainly looked it. Pratley had a shocker against poor opposition and seemed to have no movement in him or any idea of where to make a run. SKD looked jaded already. What frustrated was our inability (As usual) to break down the opposition and find movement in the final third.
A quick note for the Stone Island clad, overweight, racist, forty somethings in the corner. Do the club and the rest of us a favour and die sometime soon. Preferably painfully and slowly.

Re: Pre-season 2012
Was pretty unimpressed mainly by some of the crap that an element of our support was chanting at individual players - Pratley came in for a load of pretty vicious abuse throughout and with how close the stands are to the pitch it was basically being shouted to his face. He was poor, as always, but some of his treatment today was cringeworthy.
This, along with the Munich chants, songs about Alonso being a murderer, Klasnic a rapist and Lee having slitty eyes and eating dogs, left a pretty unsavoury taste for me. Yeah its football, Im a bloke, Ill go to games and get leathered and have a sing along - but Ill never get involved in stuff like that. Wonder what some of our players think about our support at times.

I guess that was in the seats to the left as you went up the steps. I didn't hear anything like that on the other side, other than a bit of chuntering about how poor Pratley was.P.O.S. wrote:This, along with the Munich chants, songs about Alonso being a murderer, Klasnic a rapist and Lee having slitty eyes and eating dogs, left a pretty unsavoury taste for me.
