Are these requests from Bruce, Caps and the Bish by any chance?

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Today I'm happy about......
Today I tried an experiment, one which I did not expect to work. What I did was to simply put my headphones next to the fly screen of my 'computer' room and stick the microphone of the said unit through a small hole already made for the ingress/egress of other cables. The result was, to me at least, amazing.
My intent, successfully, was the recording of the Currawong calls. Perhaps only thebish will be interested but I've put it up on my web site for a week or so. http://www.blaxlandweather.com/Testarea/Currawong2.wma" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Do not try playing it if you have a small download allocation as the full file is about 4 megabytes and runs for about 5 minutes.

ahhh did you guys have a nice time Harry? How was the park run?
Re: Today I'm happy about......
Having looked on ebay for a log store to keep my wood dry for winter, I refused to pay the £138 they were asking. 2 hours in the garden and £33 in timber later, I am now the proud owner of a log store built from scratch with my own fair hands

Aye, smashing and probably more fun than you three had at Pompey! Park run was a bugger though. They'd changed the course which meant 3 times up the blinkin hillGooner Girl wrote:ahhh did you guys have a nice time Harry? How was the park run?

Great meeting up with you, Gary the Enfield, William the White and, well, Chris the Bolton I suppose

Glad I'd wussed out when I realised that you had to do the hill three times

Was thinking, too. Yesterday will have been further than 5K. Usually you start by running twice round the track, so that's 800 mtrs, correct? Well I'm quite sure that a third loop will have been a darn site longer than 800 mtrs.

Can't have been Bruce. Park runs are always 5km - otherwise the times are all out and people would kick up.

The finish yesterday was a bit sooner than normal as you have to run back to the track and do 200 metres normally so I assume it was right but it certainly felt longer!

Re: Today I'm happy about......
GG - well that's what I was thinking, that all the timings would be wrong, but then I hadn't taken into account the finish being much shorter than it normally is, as Harry attests. Three times up the hill though - I'm amazed that there weren't people puking at the top of it. In fact, there may have been.

Re: Today I'm happy about......
Missed this. I was looking for updates in the running thread.
HG, one of the guys I was running with said the course measured 5.2k the way we did it. It was certainly a damn site harder with that extra hill. I'll definitely have to try it with that track bit next time.
The guy you finished level with at the line did the last race in 21.14 or somesuch so it was definitley harder and (I would venture) slightly long.
Anyway, thanks Bruce for the Millwall story. You never did say whether your mate got that light for his cigarette!
WtW, I'm still trying to recall where I've seen your face before.
And yes, congratulations to my cousin Chris, who has had some problems recently and not run outside since the beginning of June. A sub 30 performance on that course with no preparation was more than respectable.

Bruce, why would you ruin quality bacon with any additional flavouring ??

And if I were ever to appear on Danny Baker's Sausage Sandwich Game then I'd have to reply "No sauce at all" being as English Mustard isn't an option.
