Take it easy, it was part of his recovery programme. He was asked to do this under medical guidance, to see if he could get through it without bursting a blood vessel.bobo the clown wrote:keveh wrote:He can leave for all I care, he allowed Piers Morgan to talk to him!!!!!!![]()

Next up, they're going to send him a picture of Margaret Thatcher. If he manages that, he'll be in the clear.

God bless his little cotton socks.
I wish him as much good luck as he deserves, but if he is ever fit enough to be left of Coyle's bench again I'll eat Bish's dog-collar.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Others elsewhere have played through similar. Not impossible.bobo the clown wrote:God bless his little cotton socks.

Now, you may have evidence to the contrary, but I haven't heard of ANY top flight footballer surviving a cardiac arrest where the heart has been stopped for over an hour for them to then go on and have a professional career.
I'd love you to tell me who. We could then perhaps send the evidence to Muamba as proof that his dreams aren't made of polyethylene.

Re: Fabrice Muamba
There is a lad playing in Belgium (IIRC) who I believe contacted Muamba for support who has a device fitted and plays football in their top flight. He has a couple of times had his heart stop on the pitch, and had it re-started with the device.Gary the Enfield wrote:BWFC_Insane wrote:Others elsewhere have played through similar. He plays on.
Now, I believe the only difference is he was aware condition from before he started football.
But certainly, Muamba returning may be unlikely. But not totally impossible. I believe (though may not be true) he is seeing the same doctor in Belgium who treats this player.

Anthony Van Loo (cheers Google). Fair enough, it's similair-ish.
The thing is, van Loo suffers heart attacks where his heart goes into an arhythmic pattern an the defib. re-establishes a regular beat.
Muamba suffered a cardiac arrest. His heart stopped, completely, for over 60 minutes and a succession of defib procedures failed to re-start it. Given that scenario, what proffessional club would want to take the risk of it happening again. Furthermore, who would insure him?
I wish Muamba all the best, I really do. But he will never play proffessionally again.

Re: Fabrice Muamba
There was a piece on Van Loo on telly, and I'm sure he said on there that his heart had actually stopped on the pitch and was re-started by the defibrillator.
I think its highly unlikely he will ever play again.
However, he seems to believe he will. As we don't know the precise details of his medical diagnosis I'm happy that he believes he will play again and hope that is the case until we are told otherwise!

It's great news that he wants to be back playing. I remember a while ago him saying he doesn't want anything to do with football once he's retired so I always doubted whether he would want to come back.
Can't see it myself but let's wait and see.

I like the way Sky say he revealed to CNN rather than to the specific host, who has delivered the worst primetime figures in the channel's history.Nobbys Belly wrote:Moo takes another step forward

Was stalking stu holden's twitter and came across these recent set of messges between him and Mo and it brought a slight tear to my eye!
Fab: Happy birthday @stuholden,hope you have a great day my man.
Stuart: Cheers Fab, can't wait to dawn the Reebok pitch with you again soon my partner!
Fab: trust me on that partner. When the time right and the body is feel ready to go. We will be rocking that place again.
