What are you eating and drinking tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Did tapas at Evuna as a late lunch after catching another documentary at Cornerhouse. Glass of house red. All really, really good.

The documntary was El Bulli - about the famous avant-garde Catalan Restaurant, where food is an art and the only thing served is a set meal of 35 dishes, things like miniature tangerines in sesame oil, garnished with tangerine blossom, served on crushed ice... We both really enjoyed - almost the best bit was right at the end when, just before the closing credits, they showed close up picture from the menu - all 35 dishes. That got us going to Evuna, where the experience was not even analagous but still very good.

At the moment I'm eating a 54 calorie slim a soup that actually tastes almost pleasant. Tonight it's a three bean chilli, no rice, no bread. I've decided my BMI is too high and after watching some TV programme last night about a fasting diet scheme am giving it a go. I'll give it a week.

The quicker you lose the weight, the faster you'll put it back on. Its a terrible cliche, but you'd be best trying to do it slowly.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

What Bruce said.

BMI is not an indicator of whether you are overweight or even obese. The NHS BMI calculator has my BMI at 25.9 which is in the overweight centile. Anyone who has met me from here will tell you I am not overweight (unless it's GG where everyone seems gigantic to her). A true indicator would be to get a cholesterol test done by your GP. Blood test and stool sample will determine the level of fat in your system and you can then discuss what foods to cut back on or increase.

Also, and I know some forum members on here are expecting me to say it, you cannot do better than increase your aerobic activity. This will burn fat better than any diet and ultimately give you a better lifestyle.

Is this true or am I getting confused with weight loss - ie the idea that diet is 90% of weight loss?
They're dirty, they're filthy, they're never gonna last.

:pissed: Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it!!!!!

Quick question - did you make the crumble yourself - from scratch?

Please don't be offended by that if you have, it's just that I once did some work with a chef who told me that blokes can't make good crumble because of the temperature of our fingers. But, I mean, what's not a good crumble? :conf:

yes - I made the crumble myself - is there another way?? (I did cheat and use a food processor though...) - and the rhubarb was from my mother's garden - I swapped it for some eggs!

I'll take that as a compliment, but I'm finding the gut fat harder to keep off every year mate. I always said I didn't mind being bald, but I'd never let myself get bald and fat!
