What are you playing tonight?

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

Buddha and the Chocolate Box- Cat Stevens

First listen, so far so excellent (only 2 songs in mind). Interestingly enough, bought it from Amazon marketplace and it seems the seller is also from Bolton. Small world.

I've done something that I keep telling myself not to do - order an album without having heard a single thing on it (Gaslight Anthem's latest bag-o'-shite, anyone?). But anyway, I've read too many good reports and too much talk of 'a stomping return to form' for them all to be wrong - so now on order I have Static on the Airwaves, the new album from The Levellers!
May the bridges I burn light your way

I buy a lot of stuff without having heard anything from it, more exciting that way! I've bought things from bargain bins based purely on the album cover and unearthed a few gems.

Did exactly that with Bruce's Counting Crows recommendation -August & everything after - really starting to enjoy it.
Also found a lot of shockers this way too :(

Just give in to it on an emotionally lyrical level as much as on a musical level. It's a companion for life.

Leonard Cohen's Ten New Songs.

Liked, very much, at first listen.

Listened again...

Alexandra Leaving is stunning for all that have loved and lost - at my age I've managed multiple occurrences.

A Thousand Kisses Deep is a Cohen classic of desire fulfilled then lost. Done that too. More than once.

For those that enjoy the miseries of truth and the joys of recollection - buy... Not suitable for the under-40s...

Just to check have people listened to Frank Ocean's album, Channel Orange? Might not be what you perceive to be 'up yer street', but it really is a superbly crafted set of songs.

My wife's off to our daughter's place this afternoon. In her absence I intend to run through Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition. The CD hasn't been played for a year or two but my dipping into Gershwin and Bernstein the other day brought it back to mind as a 'best re-visit' item. :pissed:

How will you cope ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
