Does he? Have you seen him play?

Three points

What is our price range

Is this one worth our attention

Will he be fcuking off playing internationals for 6 weeks?

1. Probably less than what we would have had available for a defensive midfielder in the Premier League

2. I would think so, we haven't got any other defensive midfielders identified as targets

3. Don't know who he plays for internationally
Pfffft.

I thought Nixon said we had 4 last week according to some on here......

If we have only got Sanchez as a hard man in midfield target then Coyle wants booting out now....

Not cross just bored with chasing the same player for months on end.

ahh - sorry - didn't realise the point of the close season was for the club to keep you interested with ever-new titillating transfer stories!!

You've got to bear in mind that the agents these players have are always hard to deal with. South American players are constantly getting their careers ruined by poor management. Whether Sanchez wants to come to us or not, he isn't the one pulling the strings. His agent is likely yet another greedy, dishonest criminal, who is only looking out for himself.

It's not ok, of course, but it isn't necessarily a slight on Sanchez that he has a poor agent. People are already doubting his commitment when the villain in all of this seems to be his agent. Remember, Sanchez has jumped through hoops in order to come here only for his agent to ask for a ludicrous amount. For all we know, Sanchez could be the hardest working, most committed player we've seen in a long time and yet because of his agent, Sanchez is already being doubted. If that's the case, it's unfair to doubt him.

I'm not saying one thing or the other here, by the way. I'll reserve my judgment until I see him play for us, if it actually goes through. I'm just not willing to criticize the player because of his agents actions.

1 You said you hadn't seen another within our price range, but you don't know our range so it's a bit of a nothing statement

2 You'd be a bit disappointed if that was the case as we're crying out for midfielders and going into the last week of the summer with all our eggs in one dodgy South American bag could be looked on as negligent

3 He plays/played for Colombia

Colombia are a good side, by the way. Rodriguez, Guarin, Aguilar, Zuniga, Perea and especially Falcao are all good players. Anyone who can get into their side and have nearly 30 caps is doing something right.

Whether its his agent or himself who is the problem, either way, it's not hard to foresee problems down the line, given the evidence so far.

That's if he does actually sign.....

I see problems that worry me more if we walk into a new season with a midfield of andrews and mavies

If he's still playing for them, should be no problem as they're ranked Top 75

But, it won't be done in days

And while we're at it, I'm guessing he's not done a pre-season

The more I think about this, the more it makes no sense

If Coyle thinks this is our best option, I don't have any problem with him holding out to try and land him. I'll be a bit disappointed if it's still dragging on in a week.

If whats being said is true, then clearly the player wants to come and has forced the hand of his Agents. He flew to England to meet with us, a meeting that never happened because of the stupidity of his agents who act on his behalf.

You are completely right. My points would be

1. No-one knows apart from Gartside and Coyle what our limits are but considering that we've spent £1.6m on 4 players I suspect our price range is not high

2. I know we are crying out for midfielders, I've said it myself that we're crying out for midfielders but I don't know any defensive midfielders other than Sanchez who's available.

3. Well if he plays for Colombia then I doubt he's going to be going away much unless they have a competition like the Copa America coming up
Pfffft.
