Re: What are you watching tonight?
Seen the first 3 eps of the first series.. They're good, but struggling to see where I'm going to fit in so many episodes. Same with 24.. Which is on my Netflix watchlist.
Binned 'The Wire' off too.. First series took an age to get going then turned out no more than pretty good.. Second season is boring as feck

Watched Dead Man's Shoes last night. Didn't really sleep much after. BRUTAL. But most excellent.
Got two more a mate lent me: A Room for Romeo Brass and Stuart A Life Backwards. Looking forward to the latter in particular.

i never found it boring, but i can appreciate your frustration. However seasons 3 & 4 are where it really gets going!boltonboris wrote:Seen the first 3 eps of the first series.. this weeks was unreal.
Think I got to about halfway through season 2 before life just got a bit busy and I shelved it for a bit. That was a year ago. Though the number of people I have to deal with badgering on about it means I'll probbaly get back into it soon. They've split this season into two halves haven't they - 8 episodes this year and 8 episodes next?

It was incredible, although there was a bit of suspension of disbelief...what was the kid doing all the way out there?General Mannerheim wrote:if you havent got Breaking Bad in your life i dont really see the point of your existence.

this is what makes it tho, if you start picking at the crazy unrealistic plot holes there wouldnt be much left. keeps it light hearted.jmjhb wrote:It was incredible, although there was a bit of suspension of disbelief...what was the kid doing all the way out there?General Mannerheim wrote:if you havent got Breaking Bad in your life i dont really see the point of your existence.

No, other than the odd channel on Sky, english network's don't see it fit to air good american TV shows.
You can get it on Netflix if you have that.

The Wire really is something that you need to stick with, it's not an instant gratification programme. Not the type of programme that you can watch episode after episode, so when you do go back to it, you tend to forgot a few important details. Saying that, I found season 2 the 'worst' of the lot.boltonboris wrote:Seen the first 3 eps of the first series.. They're good, but struggling to see where I'm going to fit in so many episodes. 24 on the other hand, is something which is pretty instant and each episode tends to end of a cliff hanger, so it's easy to get addicted and to get through multiple episodes. 24 is probably my favourite ever TV show.
Due to a combination of work and not being at home, I've not had chance to watch anything past the season opener of the new Breaking Bad, so I've got four episodes which I'm probably going to watch in full tonight. I hate waiting a week for a new episode so it's worked out for the best.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
I can't really differentiate the seasons without looking them up, but Season 7 and 8 were my favourites, 8 especially.
Edit - Make sure you watch the Redemption after season 6. I made the mistake of watching it after season 7.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Yeah it was on Five USA, although it barely got any promotion and had pathetic time slots, and got bad ratings (and they wonder why?!) so they dropped it.
This show should be one of the most popular shows in th UK but the big channels won't give it a chance.
