They give you a lot of pleasure while they're around though, so remember that GG and keep in mind you didn't let him suffer.Worthy4England wrote:'Tis the only problem with doggies. They don't actually last that long.

Just amazed. The ten minute storm yesterday afternoon.
Bradford Road was a river and two massive lumps of three branches were just torn off a couple of trees. One wouldn't have fitted in my kitchen. Anybody else get this?

Aye we had similar in Warrington. I was just packing up to go when what looked like most of the Irish Sea was poured from the sky. Then by the time I left the sun was back out.

It was massive.. We had it at work (Near the airport), 2 minutes later (no more), missus was saying it had started in Worsley whilst it was still trying the tear the roof off our building!TANGODANCER wrote:Just amazed. The ten minute storm yesterday afternoon.![]()

People in Wigan were talking about it at the same time it was on here.. Must have covered some miles!

We got it in Rossendale too. It was like that storm on the Wizard of Oz - Everything turned black and white. Well, I say "turned"

Today's B.N claims it was a small tornado that passed over Breightmet. Must have fizzed around a bit when it left The Rocket.

Again, surprised.
A B.N. columnist is seriously promoting a statue of Jason Kenny be errected in the town. Neill Bonar is even hinting that the young lad might be the second most successful sportsman ever to come out of Bolton. He does graciously put Nat first and mentions Tommy Lawton, Franny Lee, Alan Ball and Amir Kahn. Jason Kenny is much to be admired for his olympic afforts, but a statue is going a bit far is it not? He's 24.

Thanks Raven, Boris, Leopards spot. Can't believe it has been a week without him already. Really, really miss him. Just little things set my bottom lip wibbling, like today when i was feeding the twins lunch and Jack was throwing his all over the floor and rejecting half of it. Trying enough but extra depressing when you realise you have to clean the floor after and chuck the extra away cos theres no furry black and white hoover around to gobble it all up....
In other news, left the twins with the inlaws whilst i popped to work for an hour, came back to find father in law calling plumbers as he had 'helpfully' decided to unblock an under sink pipe and made it spring a leak...
This forum could really do with a 'general chit chat' thread...

took delivery today of my new swizzy phone - i have never owned anything more than a very basic phone before..
it's a Blackberry Curve 9320 (so not an ultra-swizzy one)
but.. I have to admit - I'm a bit scared of it!!

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

If you're like me when it comes to gadgetry, Bish (and you're post here suggests that you are) then simply do as I do. Just use the bits you need ie. its primary functions, and balls to the rest.thebish wrote:took delivery today of my new swizzy phone - i have never owned anything more than a very basic phone before..

i suspect when it comes to gadgetry we are birds of a feather...Bruce Rioja wrote:If you're like me when it comes to gadgetry, Bish (and you're post here suggests that you are) then simply do as I do. I don't really need it to do anything desperately swizzy - my new job means that I no longer leave close enough to my work-places (they are quite spread out - I live on the edge of Torquay but work in Newton Abbot, Kingsteignton and Dartmouth - which needs a 30min drive and a ferry crossing)
so they have insisted I have a mobile to be contactable.. I was always very happy NOT being contactable.
anyway - it works out much cheaper to have a contract swizzy phone than it does to use my old basic one on PAYG...
however - I quite like gadgets - and if it CAN do summat - I want to know how! and it also solves my mobile contacts and diary needs... but now I need to get it to successfully sync with Google Calendar (which I think I have just done... I am a genius!) and allow the missus to add stuff to the calendar from her new swizzy phone....
oooh - look it has maps as well... hmmmmmm....
now.. what does that button do??? oh - bugger!!
