He's bang on about the physical demands of the Championship. In more recent years the void has been in pure skill, not in fitness. On their day Championship clubs are always in with a shout of beating any Premiership team in cup competition, and that's usually because they've out-worked their higher-ranked opposition.

This will be where we will have fallen over if we make a pigs-ear of the season. At times last year we looked slow and lethargic against opposition in the league. We've got 46 league games this year, with a possible earlier start to the FA Cup. If we're as lackadaisical as we were last year we'll struggle to make the play-offs. I sometimes wish Coyle paid as much attention to the sports science aspect of the game as Allardyce does, as we'd have a fitter squad and less injuries IMO.

Give him a chance??? How many chances does he want after almost 4 seasons sat in the physio room drawing big wages and doing nothing for them??

I never could understand what he did. He couldn't tackle, barely found a white shirt with a pass and didn't score. Just how much did he expect us to spunk up in wages for a sicknote?? If he'd been a horse we'd have shot him years ago.
