Here you go bish, if you stick this seasons Bolton fixture list link into your Google calendar it'll update the fixtures & scores automatically.

wow!! 8)

that's also genius!

(downside is that I need to be wearing my reading glasses to see the buttons - and I don't always know where my glasses are... is there an app for that?)

Ooh, I'm in your area next week. Staying at Finlake at Chudleigh, just outside Newton Abbot.

Five of us driving down tomorrow in my Golf. Three adults and two teenagers, both with ADHD. Can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to that drive :box:

spoke too soon! it works as in it has neatly filled in all the fixtures on Google Calendar - BUT - none of the fixtures sync onto the blackberry (everything else does - both ways)

arse!! is there another knob to tweak or a flange to gurdle??

Dunno tbh, I wish I could help but I don't use either a Blackberry or Google calendar. There'll be a secret hidden something somewhere that you need to secretly do something to and I'm sure it'll just spring into life.

The really good news is that it works on my setup just fine though.

Up your street then :P

Seriously though. If you know other people with a Blackberry (that you want to talk to) then it is a great instant message service (that costs nowt).

aye - one of the reasons the missus got a blackberry at the same time... not that I ever chat to her - but that was the reason!

is there a simple way of discovering if any of my other mobile phone contacts are blackberry owners short of contacting them and asking?

Theres some sort of "app" that syncs your contact list to it. I'll ask and get back. Still can't believe you've gone over to the dark side.

Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Couldn't tell you. I only had one at work for a few months before I left. I only wanted to talk to the missus and my brother on it so never investigated it further. Good phone for email and BBM, but my HTC is miles better at everything else...well, phone calls are much the same.

Tell you what though. Living out here makes me appreciate the choice and prices in the UK. Here are 2 providers and both are shockingly bad. It costs me £26 a month for a GB of data. You can either have 10mb, 25mb, 100mb, 1gb or 10gb. Half a gb would be fine for me, but 100mb x 5 would cost about £50! I've got calls, texts etc all on top of that as well. I used to pay £10 a month for unlimited data and enough calls and texts to last me months.

Even worse at home. Same 2 providers, but you don't get a choice. Depending where you live you have to use one or t'other. £110 for 16mb broadband, phone and a really shit tv package. Add in the leccy bill and I'm not a happy chappy...maybe I need to move this to the angry thread :( To add some balance I am happy that petrol is only about 26p a litre

Yesterday I came across something that may be familiar to the parents amongst you, but left me rather perplexed.

In the morning I was doing some coaching/mucking in with my athletics club down at Bolton Arena for some kids event. There were quite a few there and a photographer from the Bolton News turned up. He had them all posing doing the 'Mo-bot' and the Usain Bolt pose thingy.

Any road, one of the organisers called 3 or 4 of the kids names out and they had to sit apart whilst all this was going on. I was told this was because their parents hadn't given consent to them being photographed. The week before some dad had objected to his daughter being photograped at an event and the poor kid had to wear a bib so she wouldn't inadvertently be caught on camera by the few local papers that were there. All the same I'm sure she popped up on lots of other parents photos who were snapping away happily all day.

I have no idea how paedophiles operate and whether sports photographs tempt them to be more perverted than they normally would be but this struck me as a bit of an overreaction. I'm assuming that this is why such 'safe guards' are in place? :conf:

Sadly thats quite normal these days. You always get some super over-protective parents who won't let their kids be photographed. They have to sign consent forms at schools and sports clubs giving permission - or not. I feel a bit sorry for the kids being left out tbh. And, yes, its all a huge over-reaction.

It's been going on for years Harry. My daughter's nativity was Policed like something from 1930's Berlin. A huge woman on the door physically looking in mum's bags and confiscating cameras. No video cameras or stills allowed. Seems to be the same in most schools these days.
