Re: Burnley vs Bolton
It was pretty awful. But hey, let's stick with long goal kicks and banging the ball forward with one man up there then blame him for it all. They hustled, harried and man-marked us out of the game because we're so pedestrian in everything that it hurt. They were well up for the game and after fifteen minutes it was just a matter of time and how many. Need to forget the billy-big-bollocks "we're a Premiership side with quality" and wake up to the fact that we aren't unless we prove it. Burnley fans must be laughing their bollox off because they were by far the better side. Unless we put some energy and passion in there we could be a relegation side again. It's okay saying it's just one game, but if we don't play a whole lot better than today we'll soon become the whipping boys.
Predictable? Stick Mark Davies up with KD and Sordell from kick-off and put your house on he's going to try a Stanley Mathews run , oh, and lose the ball in ten seconds. How many balls, corners, freekicks etc did we lob hopefully towards their goal for the keeper to say "thanks lads" ? As for shooting, a five year old with a pop-gun is more dangerous than our "marksmen" right now. There must be some positives, but I'm being a bit slow in finding them. We don't need a midfield, just four defenders and six strikers, at least there'd be somebody up there for the crossbar challenge.

sounds like I missed a cracker today. Question is how long do you wait while the odds lengthen and coyle is in charge before betting on the promotion run under a manager with something other than shit for brains.thebish wrote:it'll be reet...

Perhaps we're all kidding ourselves tho. The organisation fitness and motivation are right but the squad is not championship standard.

Sorry I was being ironic. Still trying to figure out what coyle is getting paid for.Turkish Trotter wrote:Ianmooreslovechild wrote:sounds like I missed a cracker today. Even with my rose-tinted it'll be alright glasses on I know this was not alright.
We should not play 442 away from home, ever. I pray to whatever possible Deity that a lesson has been learned.
Anyway, hopefully onwards and upwards

We didn't have a shot on target so thats bollocks i was there. No commitment today, Burnley wanted it more.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:BBC uses Press Association figures, which have it 14 shots to 11 in Burnley's favour with 7 v 5 on target.Whookam wrote:So one shot on target in 90 minutes?
Not that that makes the performance qualitatively any better, mind you.
That plane with the writing JUDAS COYLE YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW! was pathetic by them, they can have him back if they want.

Anyone know which game Coyle was watching as it definitely wasn't ours?BWFC Official Website wrote:Coyle said: “We started the game well and created some good opportunities to get in front, looking sharp and inventive. We had limited Burnley to a couple of counter-attacks and looked strong."

I think SKD is a hero. And for his time with us, he'll always keep that "S". But no, he definitely shouldn't be starting. Ever. 451, Sordell up front.thebish wrote:Do you still think KD is worth his starting place?TANGODANCER wrote:It was pretty awful. Only good thing is that this result might get rid of the ridiculous notion from the people that think we are a Premiership quality team who will only have to turn up every week and we will win the league by hundreds on points.
Bodgan promise but hardly a proven prem keeper
Mears played one season in prem with a team that went down
Knight groan
Ream played a handful of prem games but didnt set the world on fire
Ricketts been relegated twice in 3 ? seasons in Prem
Chungy one good season in Prem, one season lost to injury and looking to rebuild his confidence
Andrews nearly a prem player but more of a championship performer
Mavies totally overrated ponce
Petrov has quality when he can be arsed
Eagles championship player
Davo legend but showing signs of wear and tear
Ngog 4 goal a season man bet the championship defences are cr@pping themselves facing him
Sordell only played championship
Hard to see why anyone rates us as promotion favourites with this shower and with a tactical imbecile like Coyle in charge of them

Even after todays shambles we're favourites to get promoted. Quite unbelievable that we were favourites before the season started.

Re: Burnley vs Bolton
Been back a couple of hours and needed a visit to the pub to mull things over.
I thought the 2 positives to come out of the game were Andrews (who worked hard and was willing to take responsibility for the ball for the whole 90 minutes) and Sordell who has a great touch but who desperately lacked someone with a clue playing alongside him.
We were closed down so quickly whenever the ball went out wide, but all of their attacks came straight through the centre, with so many one on ones with the centre backs at times it was like the Alamo. That defensive shield in the centre is so badly needed and today it showed. Our full backs had the worst game I've ever seen from a pair in recent memory. Mark Davies - I'm starting the car - or I would, but today there were 3600 people who would willingly give him a piggy back to Swansea if they offer anything over 6 million quid.
There's a lot of negativity on this thread tonight but personally, I thought it was one of our best performances this season so far.....

How is losing the confidence from the stands a good thing? I've heard this quite alot now and although yes it is frustrating hearing the guy next to you say 'oh not to worry we'll walk the next 37' i'm sure before the match none of the players thought it was going to be a stroll in the park so whats the problem?dasher wrote:Only good thing is that this result might get rid of the ridiculous notion from the people that think we are a Premiership quality team who will only have to turn up every week and we will win the league by hundreds on points.
Sorry use you as an example Dasher it's just before the game I for one was happy there would be none of the typical excuses in regards to money i.e the top four and everyone else and so if everyone truly believed we were good players, had a good manager, staff and all the rest they could be judged by on the pitch merits and that alone.

Re: Burnley vs Bolton
Agreed, problem was after ten minutes Andrews was doing the job of 2 in centre midfield and Sordell was too quick on the counter attck for SKD to follow. If only we had another quick striker on the nech, or perhaps someone the right side of 30 who could play just behind him on the overlap. Hmm...Bijou Bob wrote:Been back a couple of hours and needed a visit to the pub to mull things over.

How is thinking they can turn up every week put in a half assed perfomance like they did today and win the league a good thing. We have a lot of ordinary players even at this level the sooner that is accepted the sooner we can start to rebuild. Sick of reading the sh1te in the press from our players saying they are going to do this and they are going to do that then when the match comes they deliver feck all

What I think is immaterial, voice your own thoughts. The system is bollox. Wouldn't be any diferent with Arjen Roben, Van Persie or Didier Drogba up there as long as wallop balls are all we have to offer.thebish wrote:Do you still think KD is worth his starting place?TANGODANCER wrote:It was pretty awful.
