Jan Molby is probably still capable of sitting

Doesnt even need to be a massively expansive ball player. Just someone who can sit compete and win the ball then move it on quickly and effctively.Bit of protection and intelligent distribution. We already have enough would be creative types.

If he fails to bring anyone in(always possible even if he spent all summer trying) then Vela,Ream,Ricketts could all end up being tried there.I still have a sneaky feeling it's a job Alonso might be made for.Would need to lose a couple of pounds and wake up/gain a yard.I just cant see him ever being sharp enough over the first yard to make it as a fullback. As a defender in the back line he's about as effective as Campo was when he first came.
I thought that was partly what Andrews was for? Or is he just supposed to be the man of iron midfield destroyer?

As for Alonso - thought he looked to be showing improvement til he broke his foot
Not up on his death by dangerous issues which must have been summat of a distraction? That and having to do 90% of Petrov's defending as well, as yer own is likely to make you look a bit shit.. Did the absence of MP last night contribute to the defensive solidity? Or we're it just coincidence?
Are we in League 2 yet - Three seasons and we'll be away to Chesham

I think a fair amount of coincidence. There were still a number of occasions where they carved us up far too easily. That said, most of it was down Mears' flank or straight down the middle, they didn't really exploit our left much. Too many times we appear to be content to allow them to run through the centre of our midfield to the edge of the penalty area, when we then blame the CD's for not dealing with it. Needs dealing with before then by our MF 4.
