Worthy - why don't you just not leave it until the last minute?
Anyways, big game tonight. A much needed 3 points. After his performance the other night I'd be happy to see Afobe and SKD start. Few early goals and we will destroy their confidence.

(A) few early goals for us should help a bit.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Because my work generally dictates whether I can get to the game or not. So often there's no option for me. I've been known to print off at home 15 minutes before KO and leg it to the match.NiceHotCuppaTea wrote:Worthy - why don't you just not leave it until the last minute?

In the spirit of blindbutrosetinted.
A win tonight would be the best three game start to a campaign for 8 years.

Re: Bolton v Forest thread
Historical Fact(ish).
There's something in my mind that says that Bolton V Forest was the first ever game to be either a) played under floodlights (in the UK at least) or b) the first game where nets were used.
I would Google it but I'm very anti finding stuff out by Google/Wikipedia as I think it destroy's actually learning stuff AND the important skill of not caring about stuff.
You're free to check my 'fact' out though.

I'm not asking you to 'think outside the box' I just wish you'd have a rummage around in it once in a while.

Bramhall lane was the first place that used Floodlights for a match

Re: Bolton v Forest thread
Hi,
Forest fan here. Looking forward to the game tonight. Will be a massive test for us as you seem to have a lot of talented footballers and a manager I have always been impressed with. I definitely expect you to be up there around the automatic places come the end of the season. I was a bit disappointed this game got changed to a friday Sky game as I would have been there had it been a Saturday 3pm.
We have started quite well considering our preperations for the new season were complicated a little by the takeover saga dragging on. About a month ago we didn't own one senior defender, had no manager, had no out and out wingers. We still have no wingers but now have a whole new defence who have looked OK so far and I am delighted with the new manager especially his footballing principles. Our performance away at Huddy the other night was outstanding however due to a combination of extreme wastefulness and a bit of bad luck we ended up with just a point. It is still very early but the signs are good and a massive improvement on the rubbish we were served up by McClaren and Cotterill last season. We will probably play a kind of 4-1-4-1 formation with Cox joining Blackstock in attack whenever possible. I fancy us to play well again tonight but get beat maybe 2-1.
I will pop back after the match (if I'm still sober enough) and discuss events win, lose or draw if that is OK.
Cheers
Franz.

Also, Cox would be a top player for anybody in this division.

Franz Carr - now there's a blast from the past. I'm now trying to think of players that have played for both clubs. I've got - Franz Carr, Peter Shilton, John McGovern................... and now I'm stuck!
You're welcome on here anytime, Fella. Really can't call tonight's game. I think it's going to take a few more weeks for us to understand who the runners and the riders are.

Chris Fairclough started at Forest before he made his way to us.

Your views seem very fair-minded Franz. If you want to post a match report sort of post it would be very welcome.

I was trying to think of players who had played for both clubs and hardly any sprang to mind. I seemed to remember Franz had a fleeting bolton career in his later years and a quick wiki check confirmed it!!
Yeah teams will jostle for positions in the first few weeks but it is all fairly irrelevant until we get a few months into the season. It maybe a good time for us to play yourselve as it sometimes takes teams coming down a few weeks to find their feet. We will see tonight I guess.
Regarding Coxy. I have to admit I wasn't massively elated at signing him. Probably due to ignorance as I rarely watch Premiership football anymore and knew him as an out and out striker for Swindon who's goals tally seems to have have dropped off somewhat, not realising he often plays deeper or wide. However having seen his late cameo on Saturday and his performance on Tuesday night I am expecting big things from him.
