I still think he'd be better as an impact sub than starting a game. He showed us against Wolves last season what an impact he can have coming on as a sub. I really do think an Afobe/Sordell partnership is best to start and if nothing is working put the big man on and see what problems he can cause.
I'm actually wondering from that if we watched the same game? He was involved from start to finish, ran his bollox off and was involved in both goals. As for the bold bit, what evidence do you have that an Afobe,Sordell combination would be better than one of them with SKD (or even N'gog) ? If that had been the case, then fine. Right now it's just imagination to me?

Didn't he give the ball away for their first? Cracking strike nonetheless.

Just sayin' lol, one of his misplaced flick ons happened to go to them and was thunderbolted into the top corner. I still can't fathom who he was trying to get it to. Maybe his old leg just had a spasm.

It was a long throw and he was crowded out trying to get something on it.

The bigger question is what happened to our midfield after that!

Keith Andrews pussied out of a challenge, And Mark Davies did his usual magic trick of being able to run through people. Coyle really needs to address first half performances, it is taking waaaaay to long to get up to battle speed. Looking forward to the performance against Hull, See if we've learned anything.

We need more depth in midfield can't be stood in a line all the time.

Added to that we need someone who will fill gaps in there, someone with presence. If Spearing is that man I'm not sure, but we need someone to do it that's for sure.

And more communication between players, We don't seem to have a guy bollocking people when they slack off. Still not convinced spearing is the answer myself, I think 3Mil is too much. Half the amount would probably be worth a punt.

But, getting booked early was stupid and he should've been subbed on 60/70 minutes
Bit unfair considering the tackle was clean and the linesman did cock all to help the ref out.

It was clean

But, that's irrelevant

Anyway, last night the problem wasn't with Davies, though he should have been subbed

It was so fcuking obvious

That and the need for Petrov to be on in place of Lee for the last 20

Coyle didn't see it...

I'm not sure I'd agree about Davies, I thought if we were going to score again, he'd have been involved.

As for Lee, yep looked tired, not sure why Petrov didn't get 20 at the end.

Mind given the baffling decisions of our manager nowt surprises me much anymore!

Yep, fair play to Davo. He's done well for us so far. Both goals against Forest were classic Davies.

This style of play isn't going to get us promoted though.

Can't agree, it was a fair challenge. It was only the ref that saw it differently.

He was still a handful up to the final whistle and did a good deal more than say Mark Davies
Pfffft.

People were dying to see the positives from Lee. To be honest, I've seen next to none. Looks slow, nervous and his touch is way off.

To me Lee is getting stronger each game. He's still not back to his best but he's looking more dangerous. One or two moves with Mears last night were showing real signs of a good understanding.

There were two inch-perfect balls inside their fullback he played, one for Mears in the first half, somebody else in the second, and he almost got Sordell through in the first too. He looked well off the pace to me, but our kid, who was there on Tuesday, said he looked sharper than then, so hopefully he is getting better. The eye for a pass is still there.

Lee is a technical winger he needs people getting in and around him, he creates space better than anyone else we've got in our squad.

My only worry for him is that he might not be quite direct or strong enough for this league....but I think he will get there eventually!

He was direct and strong enough for the Premier League. Why not now?

Premier league and this league are different beasts. Teams close you down far quicker in this one as we have found out.

genuine question...

WTF does "technical" mean when it is used in this way? "technical" winger, "technical" player??
