I didn't think we received anything for Muamba and that the payout went to him?Athers wrote:Muamba insurance money? He must have been in the books as an asset worth about that much. If he started off at £5m in 2008 depreciating to nothing over life of his 4 year contract, I guess when he signed a new 4 year contract in 2010 that'd make him worth about £2.5m in 2012? I am no accountant!BWFC_Insane wrote:I didn't think we have 3M to spend?
Suppose his wages are to be paid to Spearing (or whoever) now too.

Surely both club and player are insured?BWFC_Insane wrote:I didn't think we received anything for Muamba and that the payout went to him?Athers wrote:Muamba insurance money? look.... even the most basic logician knows that "not saying yes" is not the same as a definite "no"...

FWIW - and I thought you basically trusted his info - Nixon says it is not off - not a no - not over...

blimey - talk about writing a player off before we've even seen him in action!!
Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok
Nixon reckons it is not true that we have had a 3mill offer for spearing accepted...
also... Nixon is hinting that spearing is not the only business we are after..
@JordGwilt There is someone else as an alternative. And another option popped up too. But focus on Spearing for now.

No surprise, I can't see us spending anywhere near 3M on anyone. Doubt we'd have it to spend even if we wanted to!thebish wrote:Nixon reckons it is not true that we have had a 3mill offer for spearing accepted...

SOME of it should be a surprise to you - you said we only ever had one target!!!BWFC_Insane wrote:No surprise, I can't see us spending anywhere near 3M on anyone. I remember Gartside saying at a shareholder meeting last year that the club dont insure the players. I guess with our claims history, premiums and excesses have become to high. Think Aviva are the underwriters for Muambas own Personal Accident/sickness policy.Athers wrote:Surely both club and player are insured?BWFC_Insane wrote:I didn't think we received anything for Muamba and that the payout went to him?Athers wrote:Muamba insurance money? Who's that coming up the hill boys,
The Wanderers are coming up the hill boys,
They all laugh at us, they all mock at us,
They all say our days are numbered,
Born to be a Wanderer, victorious are we....

Another CYA "Skysports understand" report.

Re: Jaffka's gossip thread on the ins and outs at the 'Bok
Anything that puts Bolton and Allardyce in the same sentence is usually a computer generated report linking potential players that might be of interest to said managers and other clubs of interest just to get people talking. More than probably a load of tosh. Can't imagine we'd be interested in getting in another right back just yet. Wouldn't mind us using the Big Sam tactic of putting the CDM in the right back slot if we're low on numbers.

Problem with that is that we've got three right-backs and no defensive midfielders...!Mar wrote:Wouldn't mind us using the Big Sam tactic of putting the CDM in the right back slot if we're low on numbers.

I don't know the details, but my post here shows that usually both are insured and that all Premier League clubs buy insurance collectively.Athers wrote:Surely both club and player are insured?BWFC_Insane wrote:I didn't think we received anything for Muamba and that the payout went to him?Athers wrote:Muamba insurance money? From the twitter-verse...apparently a photo has turned up on some Stoke transfer threads, oatcake I imagine, which has caused a number of sources (including Sky sports news) to claim Chung Yong is having a medical at stoke. The catch is, THIS is the photo...
