Muamba insurance money? He must have been in the books as an asset worth about that much. If he started off at £5m in 2008 depreciating to nothing over life of his 4 year contract, I guess when he signed a new 4 year contract in 2010 that'd make him worth about £2.5m in 2012? I am no accountant!

Suppose his wages are to be paid to Spearing (or whoever) now too.
I didn't think we received anything for Muamba and that the payout went to him?

Surely both club and player are insured?

look.... even the most basic logician knows that "not saying yes" is not the same as a definite "no"...

FWIW - and I thought you basically trusted his info - Nixon says it is not off - not a no - not over...

Nixon reckons it is not true that we have had a 3mill offer for spearing accepted...

also... Nixon is hinting that spearing is not the only business we are after..

@JordGwilt There is someone else as an alternative. And another option popped up too. But focus on Spearing for now.

No surprise, I can't see us spending anywhere near 3M on anyone. Doubt we'd have it to spend even if we wanted to!

I remember Gartside saying at a shareholder meeting last year that the club dont insure the players. I guess with our claims history, premiums and excesses have become to high. Think Aviva are the underwriters for Muambas own Personal Accident/sickness policy.
Who's that coming up the hill boys,
The Wanderers are coming up the hill boys,
They all laugh at us, they all mock at us,
They all say our days are numbered,

Born to be a Wanderer, victorious are we....

Anything that puts Bolton and Allardyce in the same sentence is usually a computer generated report linking potential players that might be of interest to said managers and other clubs of interest just to get people talking. More than probably a load of tosh. Can't imagine we'd be interested in getting in another right back just yet. Wouldn't mind us using the Big Sam tactic of putting the CDM in the right back slot if we're low on numbers.

Problem with that is that we've got three right-backs and no defensive midfielders...!

I don't know the details, but my post here shows that usually both are insured and that all Premier League clubs buy insurance collectively.

From the twitter-verse...apparently a photo has turned up on some Stoke transfer threads, oatcake I imagine, which has caused a number of sources (including Sky sports news) to claim Chung Yong is having a medical at stoke. The catch is, THIS is the photo...

doesn't even look close!!

Still it brightened up my afternoon, word has it the club are fuming.
