Typical Jack Deardon !! We know an announcement will be made in next day or so, whether it's yay or nay no on eknows.
I imagine as Dearden is down there he's had a word with somebody.......
surely not? you said it was a no!
Based on the info this morning that Liverpool wanted cash and Wolves were offering it, things didn't sound good.

Either way, if he joins I hope he does the trick and stops us being so open!

.... a metaphor for life that is.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Do NOT let Captain Clueless spend another penny of our money.

This is more amazing than the £4m we pissed up the wall signing Ngog.

Why are we signing Liverpool rejects? Players like that are not going to get us promoted.

We need a defensive midfielder.

(And a manager who'll pick him, but that's a different thread, into which I shall post shortly.)

Strikes me as a last chance signing. 3 mil is probably about right and more or less recoupable. If Coyle is still the manager the board have to back him and theyve already said this signing is a key signing.Quite what happens if he doesnt come after the Sanchez thing and the very public Chase(or 3 legged stumble race) for Spearing is imponderable.

Hope Vela isnt badly injured.

Recoup-able on a good player. Spearing isn't worth £3m. The only reason that figure is being brandished about is because he's a member of Liverpool's youth team setup and they think that playing in some UEFA matches aswell as some Premiership matches somehow deserves more £££'s. Can't see us recouping the same fee we paid for N'Gog and that was over the odds aswell.

You'd get the same more or less back on NGog.When I say recoupable I really mean even if they dont excel at bolton their age/background means they may move on for perhaps 1 million less so you wouldnt take a huge hit. Other clubs would take into account potential and the fact they have been playing for coyle at bolton so they may not be as shite as they appear.

Spearing looks busy and limited from what little I've seen and really that is what our midfield needs especially if theyre continuing withh 442

Alan Nixon ‏@reluctantnicko

@JayJay2345 Spearing not 100 per cent sure he wants full time move. But ok with going to Bolton on loan.

Doesn't sound right to me.

There were noises last night that Spearing deal was all agreed for a fee and set to be signed today. Now it seems that may well not be the case

I do wonder if the events of last night have made the powers at be at the Reebok think about things......like do we want this manager to spend our last few million......

Not what I heard from someone at work who follows Nixon, they said that last night he confirmed the Spearing to sign imminently rumour.

I'll go and ask him what was said!

Nixon's line seems to be that Spearing doesn't want to be sold - which is causing Liverpool a problem cos they want to sell him... and Spearing is baulking at the offers that are about selling him and warming to the offers that are about a loan... so - not really Coyle's incompetence holding this one up....

he may be to blame for lots of stuff - but no point inventing stuff to blame him for... (again!)

Did Coyle not watch the Euros Olympics? Do we no longer have an overseas scouting network?
Spearing follows the pattern of previous Coyle signings (Ngog, Pratley, Mears, Mills) who are mid championship standard at best. They are overpriced dross who will take us nowhere. Look at Swansea and Wigan and their signings. With a manager who looked beyond Britain we could be still mid table Prem.

Lucas Leiva injured for "between 2 to 3 months" so with Adam seemingly for sale I wonder if this could mean they want to hold onto Spearing.
