Euuuurghhh. Picked onion though? Mingin'. Now Beef flavour Monster Much (the maaaahooosive ones that we used to get when I was a boy, not the tiddly ones I've seen around of late) they were bostin'. Washed down with a can of dandelion and burdock. Lush.

Anyone tried the pie and mash shop in St Andrews Court? Looks like we're giving it a go for our Friday lunch this week. £4 for pie, mash, mushy peas and gravy.

Oooh, ooh, ooh. Didn't know there was one. That's lunch sorted the next time I'm in town then. By the way - has anyone been in Rice and Three on Gt Moor St? Any good?Burnden Paddock wrote:Anyone tried the pie and mash shop in St Andrews Court? Looks like we're giving it a go for our Friday lunch this week. £4 for pie, mash, mushy peas and gravy.

Not been in for a good while, but always decent when i've eaten there. Good value and always busy too which is usually a good sign.Bruce Rioja wrote:Oooh, ooh, ooh. Didn't know there was one. No website of their own but a review here, with pics of proper grub.Bruce Rioja wrote:Oooh, ooh, ooh. Didn't know there was one. That's lunch sorted the next time I'm in town then. The mash is smooth and buttery and the gravy is packed with flavour. There really is no-where else like it nearby that I can think of.
We were all really impressed with the quality of the food for the price they were charging. Special merit was given for the pastry, the big chunks of meat in the pies and for serving dandelion and burdock.

Sounds like there's a wait on, but then it sounds like it's worth it. Cheers, BP.

Nipped in about 1.30pm today for a menu and it was dead. Phoning our order through. Not taking any chances.Bruce Rioja wrote:Oh my.Burnden Paddock wrote: No website of their own but a review here, with pics of proper grub.

Hey i don't watch rubbish telly, i have very discerning choice. 'One born every minute' is great viewing. And don't you grin Colin, you are the king of crappy telly (along with Mr GG) And Bruce, masterchef? Really?!Annoyed Grunt wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:Doesn't make me wrong though, does it?Annoyed Grunt wrote:I'm with Pru and GG on this, sorry Bruce.
