no offense taken - and yes - I have been known to bait! (BWFCi loves it really! - he baits me back!) - just, not on this occasion! I don't understand the charge of "one-upmanship"...Verbal wrote:Your posts sometimes come across as unnecessarily baiting, bish. Of course it's good to ask questions, but personally i don't see a need to use it as a game of one-upmanship

Hierro isn't doing out I don't think. Was doing a director of football style thing at Malaga until that went tits up. Poyet would be my shout. However, there were rumours Gudni was bored of doing parking tickets in Iceland weren't there? He was ace, calm, clever, organiser. GUDNI IN!

No to Di Canio for me. Doing well but he is bat shit insane. Also, rivals Glenn Hoddle for biggest dick-head being mentioned.

Bit fascist, as said before.
Dunno about Poyet. Would he leave?

Whilst it was a redeculhoos appointment last time, I cant help thinking the best candidate right now is Gary Megson

has he done any coaching at all??
(I do warm to the idea of having someone who has some understanding of what defending is...)

No need for previous coaching experience. Infact someone without a coaching badge would be for the best

A may cut some letters out of the newspaper for the second letter if he doesnt fix it for me
Re: owen out 2012/2013
or... if Gudni isn't interested...
I've said this before - and I mostly mean it...
1. Hope Powell - yes, why not?
2. is it time to break the mould and tempt a yank across from the MLS? Sigi Schmid, Bruce Arena, Frank Yallop, Dominic Kinnear, and Steve Nicol all have experience and success...

He'd just calm the whole fecking thing down. Teach players that the ball isn't a hot potato. Have confidence in their own ability. And that none of them are superstars (used to see him in Tesco after the match with his kids choosing the pizzas) Where to pass it to, where to look for it, how to play football. I'd do, basically, anything to see him back at our place, with Youri as head coach.Prufrock wrote:Hierro isn't doing out I don't think.

I'd caution that with the fact that many good nay great players haven't cut it in the managerial stakes......Bruce Rioja wrote:He'd just calm the whole fecking thing down. And many average strikers have turned out to be shite managers.BWFC_Insane wrote:I'd caution that with the fact that many good nay great players haven't cut it in the managerial stakes......Bruce Rioja wrote:He'd just calm the whole fecking thing down. Take your point but Gudni, Frandsen,Hierro, Youri were absolute model pros and great readers of the game aswell as being cool and great with the press/fans. Mind you this thread is beginning to feel like some kind of cargo cult adventist thing.
Times must be pretty bad.

Oh I agree. But I think, in fact I'm absolutely sure, that neither Hierro or Djorkaeff ever got carried away with themselves as most great players do. Hierro I see as a calm, calculated leader of men, who's ultimately in charge. Djorkaeff - a superb mentor and coach. Would you rather have Phil Brown? Mick McCarthy? Les Reid? Steve Wigley?BWFC_Insane wrote:I'd caution that with the fact that many good nay great players haven't cut it in the managerial stakes......Bruce Rioja wrote:He'd just calm the whole fecking thing down. Just think there is a lot to management and while I'm sure Hierro is fantastic, not sure I'd want someone cutting their managerial teeth completely on us at this stage....Bruce Rioja wrote:Oh I agree.
