Take your point but Gudni, Frandsen,Hierro, Youri were absolute model pros and great readers of the game aswell as being cool and great with the press/fans. Mind you this thread is beginning to feel like some kind of cargo cult adventist thing.

Oh I agree. But I think, in fact I'm absolutely sure, that neither Hierro or Djorkaeff ever got carried away with themselves as most great players do. Hierro I see as a calm, calculated leader of men, who's ultimately in charge. Djorkaeff - a superb mentor and coach. Would you rather have Phil Brown? Mick McCarthy? Les Reid? Steve Wigley?

Just think there is a lot to management and while I'm sure Hierro is fantastic, not sure I'd want someone cutting their managerial teeth completely on us at this stage....
