Re: Spearing £3Mil
Despite his lack of technical ability, he does seem willing to work hard and put a foot in. He can't be any worse than Muamba on the ball, which seems to be a major criticism from Liverpool fans, so if he can provide the effort Muamba did, maybe he'll be a good replacement. If we give Spearing a limited role, I think he'll be ok for us. I hope he is straight into the team, personally.

I think videos mean quite a lot to be honest, They give us a chance to watch, Study and learn a players strengths and weaknesses. Going off most of the videos I've seen of Spearing in a Liverpool shirt he doesn't have many strengths at all. I'm willing to give him a chance, I'm also willing to say I told you so when it doesn't work out.ChrisC wrote:IggyTheDawgster wrote:Watch the video I posted, You may just change your mind.Bijou Bob wrote:6 month loan according to Skysports, which on the whole, is a decent deal for us IMO.
Video's don't mean shite all! i remember when we signed Braaten and he looked like Pele.
Lets see how he performs in a white shirt before he is judged.

A 90 minute one maybe, not some feckin 3 minute youtube job with an obvious bias either for or against a player. Would you turn down Mesut Ozil after seeing this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VdJ5pNzAww" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;IggyTheDawgster wrote:I think videos mean quite a lot to be honest, They give us a chance to watch, Study and learn a players strengths and weaknesses. The thing is with Ozil- I can find plenty of videos that show his quality, 3 minutes or not. I can't find a single video of Spearing that makes me think, Yeah he's a good signing, He'll be a great addition to our squad. I've seen Spearing play lots of times (Thanks Liverpool TV) and never been impressed.wanderers_on_tour wrote:A 90 minute one maybe, not some feckin 3 minute youtube job with an obvious bias either for or against a player. So are you going to condemn him before he even plays a game for us despite him being what we need positionally?IggyTheDawgster wrote: I've seen Spearing play lots of times (Thanks Liverpool TV) and never been impressed.

No, I said I am willing to give him a chance. It's miserable enough as it is . At least let us have a few days to try and believe again.
Re: Spearing £3Mil
glad its a loan as throwing £3m on this guy would seem a big risk given his rep amongst those that have watched him.
why just 6 months though? seems daft.

And given Coyle's previous, I wonder if that photo will be the nearest we ever get to see him in Wanderers colours....

Re: Spearing £3Mil
Had a chat with my Scouse-supporting neighbour this morning. He reckons Spearing is no Gerard and co, but a solid enough, decent player who should improve us. Gets stuck in (a phrase already adopted) and can use the ball well enough. Thinks it's a good move and a positive one. My neighbour's a sensible bloke, cut above your average plastic Scouser, and knows their team and play inside out. Sounded impressed we'd got Spearing. Time will tell no doubt, but it's a start.
