Tyrone Mears
deserves a thread to himself for being the worst person ( I can't bring myself to use the term "footballer" or "player") ever seen in a Bolton shirt IMHO.
Had to get that off my chest.
Surely Joe Riley must be better or even putting Sam Ricketts there with Alonso (yes I know) on the other side. Anything, and I do mean anything, has to be better than Nr Mears

Re: Tyrone Mears
I've heard this 'worst player in a Bolton shirt' hyperbole crap a lot in recent weeks, with regard to Mears, Ream and others. You're all wrong. That honour belongs to Gerald Cid.
Riley was targeted quite a bit on Tuesday...well, the cavernous gap behind him was. Needs discipline.
I would prefer Ricketts in there but that would need a capable left back and Alonso isn't that.

I would suggest the honour goes to that div3 Spanish player BSA signed...though I'm not sure we ever saw him in a shirt!

Didn't he come on at Fulham? Or was that Mario Espartero?Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:I would suggest the honour goes to that div3 Spanish player BSA signed...though I'm not sure we ever saw him in a shirt!
Agree with Verbs, btw - Crawley kept knocking it into the yawning gap behind Riley, and nobody in bluenblack seemed to notice, or at least do anything about it. Kid's got promise but needs practice, and now may not be the time: Mears hasn't (yet) made me throw my hands in the air and run round screaming incoherently.

I don't recall him coming on anywhere, but then my memory is in decline. I always wondered if he even existedDave Sutton's barnet wrote:Didn't he come on at Fulham? Either way. I think Mears is shite, but he is nowhere near the worst player we've had...

Dennis fckg Peacock.
Unless keepers have their own list.
Otherwise, save the trees & stop posting. The game is done.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Well, I don't wish to speak ill of the deceased, but both Ian Moores and Ray Deakin are in with a shout.
Keepers you say, Bobo? Kevin Rose, David Felgate, Simon Farnworth to throw a few more in.

Re: Tyrone Mears
The point being Peacock wouldn't have been able to throw anything in, as he'd never have had hold of it in the first place. Honestly, I've seen some shite in my time but he was the worst by a factor of 10.Bruce Rioja wrote:Well, I don't wish to speak ill of the deceased, but both Ian Moores and Ray Deakin are in with a shout.

For outfield, I see all that lot (with the exception of BFSA's pension fund Spaniard) and raise you a Henry Mowbray. I honestly think he was a builder who got chucked a shirt one day.

Lads! I've made a thread now where you can spout your bile at our former forlorn players.

Re: Tyrone Mears
Can't disagree with the Cid shout but ob Friday night Mears had three chances in quick succession in the second half to put in a dangerous cross and three times he passed it straight to their keeper. Once - OK, twice - you're a pillock

Re: Tyrone Mears
Salmon and Peacock were pretty poor too. But Felgate after McDonut and before Branagan was the only decent one we had. Farnworth wasnt a bad shot stopper but suffered Dracaula syndrome by Proxy bizarrely much like the giant and incredibly inappropriately named Salmon and the diminutive Rose who was shall we say a giant amongst very small men and went on to have an exceptional career on the cult dwarf basketball circuit in the U.Shi there, i'm chris wrote:HOW DARE YOU.Bruce Rioja wrote:Well, I don't wish to speak ill of the deceased, but both Ian Moores and Ray Deakin are in with a shout.

Regarding the original thread Mears is not even the worst fullback we've had.Derek Scott,Whitworth,Mike Bennett(ponse!),Fitzpatrick(6ft4 ginger fullback wtf) Neil Berry. These my friend are truely dire footballers whostruggled to hold their own in a plummeting team. Mears is quick and a reasonable athlete,at the moment his final ball is poor(could improve) and positioning is dodgy(might improve with a bit of coaching

Re: Tyrone Mears
Many years ago signed a "striker" from Wolves on loan called Mike Ring, he was awful (and tiny) !!
I feel reborn !!!! No more confussion

Re: Tyrone Mears
I remember Andy Dibble's debut (3-0 v West Brom) and my utter elation at seeing a keeper that was prepared to catch crosses out by the penalty spot. I'm not even sure that Felgate was even the best keeper in Blaenau Ffestiniog.Ianmooreslovechild wrote:Salmon and Peacock were pretty poor too.
