He's one of us now, for a while at least.
I'm happy to give him a chance.
Good luck to him at the Whites.

Re: Spearing £3Mil
Asked some Liverpool supporters about him and they said he's decent but isn't good enough compared to the rest of their midfield. He would probably be a low premiership side or top championship side player, there interested in seeing how he does
Re: Spearing £3Mil
Sounds promising Tango. If Coyle uses him properly this might shore us up. Let's hope so anyway.TANGODANCER wrote:Had a chat with my Scouse-supporting neighbour this morning. He reckons Spearing is no Gerard and co, but a solid enough, decent player who should improve us. Gets stuck in (a phrase already adopted) and can use the ball well enough. Thinks it's a good move and a positive one. My neighbour's a sensible bloke, cut above your average plastic Scouser, and knows their team and play inside out. Sounded impressed we'd got Spearing. Time will tell no doubt, but it's a start.

Jay will please both the footballing connoisseurs and those that love constantly harassing the opposition/100% effort players. Those who only like players with a nice haircut and stepovers and then give MOM to whoever scored , they wont get him.

Not a Bolton fan, is the ESL that group of youngsters by the corner flag? If so - they definitely will not get him !BWFC_Insane wrote:Well thats a large percentage of the ESL who will hate him then!Team_Spearing wrote:Jay will please both the footballing connoisseurs and those that love constantly harassing the opposition/100% effort players. Unless BWFCi means the whole East Stand Lower, which I don't follow. I was an ESL halfway-liner and I thought we were positively urbane by comparison

No I did really just mean the corner, but you used to get abused for saying that on here......50sQuiff wrote:The very same.Team_Spearing wrote:Not a Bolton fan, is the ESL that group of youngsters by the corner flag? Jay Spearing in Double Bolton Deal
Transfer deadline day spelled success for the 23 year old Liverpool midfielder in more ways than one; signed on a season long loan by Owen Coyle, local Bolton retailers acted quickly to secure the marketing services of the young ace. After a lengthy bidding war that lasted nearly two hours between the central players in men’s clothing for Lancanshire and Spearing’s representatives, Greenwoods Menswear managed to capture the football magnate for their new underwear campaign. They are understood to have secured the deal despite interest from bigger organisations, such as Norton Barrie and Dorothy Perkins, and will use the young dynamo for a Giorgio Armani styled underwear marketing campaign. It will feature the player in a serious of modelling shots in tight briefs canvassed across the city, emulating David Beckham’s work two years ago. On both deals, Spearing remarked he was delighted but revealed, contrary to popular belief, he has no previous modelling experience, “Obviously it’s fantastic to have a first team opportunity at a wonderful club like Bolton Wanderers so I really can’t wait to pull the white shirt on. (In relation to Greenwoods deal) And yeah, I mean, it’s going to be great. I actually haven’t modelled before but I can’t wait to get my shirt off and into some of their, very comfortable and spacious, briefs. It’s going to be a blast.”

I hope you didn't put too much effort into that.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: Spearing £3Mil
I'm sure Spearing will do well in the Muamba role. Now lets hope Owen pulls head out and plays the 451. Hopefully we don't see him on the bench like Fab was doing a lot of last season.

Just a bit of fun in work on deadline day pal, about as much effort as Crawley made the other night.Lord Kangana wrote:I hope you didn't put too much effort into that.

Re: Spearing £3Mil
I suppose if he's here to model underwear or play footie, and if he figures in Coyle's plans, he could be good for the club.

Don't try to be a great man. Just be a man and let history make up its own mind.

He'll play alright. McGugans goal for Forest at the Reebok was stunning, but he could have made a cuppa and rang his mum before striking it. Nobody will get that much time in that area with Spearing and the team will benefit - like I said earlier, a keen football observer will note the value of these break ups of play.Vertigo wrote:I'm sure Spearing will do well in the Muamba role. Know any with management credentials? Might be a vacancy soon.Team_Spearing wrote:like I said earlier, a keen football observer will note the value of these break ups of play.

He's a DM. We don't seem to have any others, so not unhappy if he's any good. Can't wait for him to start upfront with Kev in a 442, sometime in Dec when OC has worked out we don't have the personnel to play 442 without a DM.
