Any basis to this statement?50sQuiff wrote:
That has to be a factor too. The dark irony being how much Coyle and Muamba disliked eachother, before Coyle had to spend weeks on end doling out platitudes about what a lovely lad he is, how his smile lit up the training ground and so on. As ever, no neutrals are aware of the backstory.
If so, fair enough. If not, let's not make things up just because Coyle's feckin' his job up.

Wasnt there a thinly veiled tweet from moo moaning about coyle having his favourites and basically saying he couldnt believe the selections.Sure that was shortly before the awful events of WHL and was forgotten naturally given the circumstances.Wandering Willy wrote:Any basis to this statement?50sQuiff wrote:

Yep your right it seemed from a few tweets Moo was getting pretty fed up with life under Coyle and was getting quite a few tweets supporting him.Ianmooreslovechild wrote:Wasnt there a thinly veiled tweet from moo moaning about coyle having his favourites and basically saying he couldnt believe the selections.Sure that was shortly before the awful events of WHL and was forgotten naturally given the circumstances.Wandering Willy wrote:Any basis to this statement?50sQuiff wrote:

wasn't exactly fun as a grown-up, yer whippersnapper50sQuiff wrote:It sounds like things could get as nasty as the McFarland season, which was a horrible atmosphere to be in as a kid.

Good comparison though... In that like Roy, Owen is a nice bloke with a station above his ideas. Board waited too long that season; once Porterfield came in to assist Todd for the second half of the campaign our form was mathematically midtable, but we'd dropped too far behind. I think Gartside will act more quickly, but I still think it'll take two or three more witless losses - and/or a clearly anti-Coyle atmosphere at the Reebok.

Moo was thoroughly pissed off, as were many fans, at being left out .... or when played, taken off. His displeasure had credence because of the number of times Cptn. Chaos changes plucked defeat from the jaws of draws ... or even victories ... yet still he persisted.
As said above he was (very unprofessional too) tweeting his displeasure ... & the fans were backing him. The "what the fck is Coyle doing ?" crowd were already in full flow.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Spearing £3Mil
Muamba was frustrated and tweeting as such, culminating in Coyle having words following the QPR game (after which he'd tweeted about people 'playing favourites' and such).
Saying that, I think it's a huge stretch to say that they disliked each other.
Strangely and sadly, the next game was Spurs in the Cup and the end of Fab's career. The Bolton News wrote:“I have spoken to him (Muamba) but we are not making an issue of it,” Coyle said yesterday. “It’s got absolutely nothing to do with football.
“You play well and you stay in the team. It’s not rocket science. I’ve told every one of the players to make sure when they do play, they play at their best.”

Very true, they didnt see eye to eye at that point and Moo quite possibly was starting to think about moving onTombwfc wrote:Muamba was frustrated and tweeting as such, culminating in Coyle having words following the QPR game (after which he'd tweeted about people 'playing favourites' and such).

Muamba even went to the trouble of tweeting a link to this website from keveh showing stats on how many points we had when he was playing compared to when he wasn't.

Dont think they got the money to afford Michael Owen, even when he's free...

Spearing looks like a really solid player. He's not bad at all. What price can we sign him at? £1m?
Re: Spearing £3Mil
Sturridge job, he'll do sterling work and then say he's good enough for a first-team spot with a (top?) premiership team.
Then he'll be off.
Then he'll be off.

I thought he was very good at reading the game today.
The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

He was excellent today (as was Eagles) - but Spearing has been decent in all the games he's played since signing.
We have needed a tigerish hard working midfielder for ages, and he certainly looks the part - and he can pass the ball.

Re: Spearing £3Mil
I'd be interested to know the terms of his loan - do we have the right to extend it? To buy at the end if we wish?
If he carries on like this, and unless he thinks he can force his way in at his beloved Liverpool, he'd do well to stick with us for the season. Make a name for himself, then in summer decide whether to move here, go back or move elsewhere. I suppose it would help if we were back in the top flight...

I went away to M'boro this weekend - Friday/Saturday - and came back to find we'd signed a new player! all sorts of things pass me by!

I noticed this on Sunday. Your team is propping the League up. Strongest team in the country, Number 92 and all that.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:I'd be interested to know the terms of his loan - do we have the right to extend it? To buy at the end if we wish?

Barnet have been cack for years - since they came back up in 2005 they've finished 18th, 14th, 12th, 17th, 21st, 22nd, 22nd. New ground next season, but they'll still be cack.

Blimey I was under the impression that Barnet in this context referred to hair style !
