Some interesting choices coming out of Bet Victor:
Rafa is favourite
How about Holdsworth?

Re: If Coyle gets the sack
Right now? Yes, it's about not losing. In EVERY game, regardless of opposition, that should be the primary aim of EVERY manager. Target not losing, and keeping a clean sheet, and you only need to score one to win. Coyle is currently unable to comprehend that.BL3 wrote:So it's not about winning, it's about not losing. Tell me, since you ask how Swindon did today with Di Canio at the helm...how did Bolton do yesterday, with Coyle at the helm? Did we win?
Face it. As regards Coyle, you have not a single leg to stand on. More often than not, he fails to win. He can't keep a clean sheet, hasn't done so in 50 league games. And he can't get the team scoring enough goals to overcome that. He fails on all managerial fronts.

Although last time I really wanted an ex-player to take over it ended in tears (I'll always still like our Owen tho).
Troll and proud of it.

Reckon Solskjaer would be up for it?

Didn't want Villa job, maybe it's the next progression. What's his record like in Norway?

wiki says he turned down the Villa job because he didn't want to unsettle his family in Norway... I doubt that just a few months later he'd decide to unsettle them for the chance of managing l'il old Bolton!

not sure what his record is though - nor if he'd have privileged access to young manU talent ripe for loaning...

I would think that Ol' Red nose will let us have a few on loan should we want them if Ole is a candidatethebish wrote:TKIZ! wrote:Didn't want Villa job, maybe it's the next progression. What's his record like in Norway?

Don't think many want Eddie Howe for his managing abilityJokers in White wrote:Eddie fcukin howe is that a joke

That said, I reckon he'll be a good 'un long term. Not for us, now, though, though it would be fecking priceless.

I haven't been saying "anyone but Coyle", but the time is right for a change, because we have stagnated. There HAS to be somebody better out there, because the alternative is watching this fcukwit relegate us twice in a row.BL3 wrote:Mick McCarthy's also on the list. Does he win more often than not? Eddie Howe's got a worse record than Coyle this season and last time i checked Billy Davies had been out of work for almost as long as Walter Smith.
Stagnated?!

We are some fecking way beyond stagnation!

Re: If Coyle gets the sack
I dunno, it didn't work for Darren in the Championship, and you'd think he'd get the best of what's available. Certainly not as simple as 'loan the dirty b*stards reserves - though Solskjaer would know them well enough. Seems to have had a decent enough record over there, but don't know anywhere near enough to say if he is any good. Plenty do well at first and look promising. The afore-mocked Howe and Darren Ferguson to begin with. And Paul Ince. Nothing to say Di Canio isn't another. Equally, plenty have looked promising and gone on to do well. Adkins, Lambert, Rodgers. Then again, Rodgers failed at Reading. I think we need a good fit, which is why lurching between experienced organiser and youthful idealist doesn't help, because the new man doesn't have the squad to do what he wants. We have the players for an attack-minded manager who can organise a defence and get players playing positively and with confidence and some semblance of a plan. Coyle hasn't got the plan, or, crucially any more it seems, even the belief of the players.TKIZ! wrote:I would think that Ol' Red nose will let us have a few on loan should we want them if Ole is a candidatethebish wrote:TKIZ! wrote:Didn't want Villa job, maybe it's the next progression. DiCanio fans may like to note his curious tactic of humiliating his keeper by subbing him after 20 mins. You may also remember him punching one of his players last season.I'm not convinced that kind of crap works with experienced pros.Remember Phil Brown was a football genius until he had a half time chat in the centre circle.

Think Solskjaer win percentage was about 85% when he won the league.

I'd have Hughes here tomorrow. His record compared to Coyle is rather better at the top level. FWIW, every time Steve Bruce is mentioned, it drives certain folk into apoplexy (not you I don't think). Isn't he currently managing Hull? Oh and I seem to recall Sunder land stuffing us at the Bok last season.
Gus Poyet might not be a bad shout.
And then of course there's my gran.
And Sammy Lee.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
