Think we ended up with Steve Howey instead.
I think Allardyce was backed to the extent necessary. He'd have liked more, but we ain't got, what we ain't got. Megson had a chance to talk to Modric before Spurs...said he was too lightweight.

I'm pretty sure he's said that about every single good player on earth.

Just a little heads up.When we eventually play sheff wed in coyle's final game a certain J Johnson is likely to be playing left back. Apparently he's tricky lightning fast and in blinding form at present. A little extra salt for your piss and chips.

Allardyce somehow managed to sign Yossi Benayoun as well.
Funny old world and I don't like it any more.

Vaz Te was on fire whilst at Barnsley so I don't think you can give BSA all the credit for his current form. Horrible how things played out but I think everyone was in agreement that he'd be given a fair crack at the whip whilst at Bolton (under a number of managers) and for some reason, at the time, just wasn't cut out for the premier league.

Maybe it served as a huge reality check for the player but I don't think you can blame the club without the benefit of serious hindsight.

P.s Anyone who complains about our wage/revenue turnover I look forward to seeing West Hams figures for both this year and the last, apparently Nolan was earning MUCH more at championship West Ham then he was at premier league Newcastle.

P.S Jussi is still the same player he was here, sparks of brilliance but will be prone to the utter mare and sadly with his age it'll only be a downward spiral (although I would love him to prove me wrong). Perhaps he'll get a little more protection from Big Sams tactics but thats a whole other boo Coyle argument altogether

Allardyce of anybody actually believes him claimed to have almost signed: Evra, Arshavin, Ibrahimovic, Eto'o.. In fact, any feck* that's got a reputation.
