Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
yeah, certainly a high density of kebab shops, most of which claim to be the best in London - there is one on Old Street tho, seconds from where im staying - that you know is good because its where all the taxi drivers go! frickin is good n'all! and a bit too convenient.Verbal wrote:There are some really nice Turkish restaurants around the Dalston area, G. I tend to stay away from Shroeditch these days as it's starting to outdo Clapham as w*nker central these days but the food market on Brick Lane can be a lark sometimes (but again, full of rich kids in cardigans prepping for/returning from a gap yah and reading a 'how to be cool' book).General Mannerheim wrote:I would if they opened one up Shoreditch or Angel - they're all a bit of a trek from here. worth it tho!

Skate wing, with a caper & butter sauce, new potato's & asparagus. A crisp NZ Sauv Blanc to accompany.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Wrap what you can in cling film by individual pack, then, make a big bundle with the individual packs putting the stuff that you want to keep the most in the middle of the bundle. Wrap the whole bundle with newspaper and then wrap that again in clingfilm. Obviously take a judgement call on everything when you get home. You need to keep everything as airtight as possible. It's well worth a go - I'm like you when it comes to chucking food out.Gooner Girl wrote:Leaving the isle of wight tomorrow and wondering how much frozen food we can take back to Sussex with us that may partially de-frost on the way. Good luck, and a safe journey home.

Starting to?! Shoreditch was full of Sloaney wankers when I moved to London in 2006! Horrid horrid place. Well, it's not, it's really not, but there's a lot of horrid people!Verbal wrote:There are some really nice Turkish restaurants around the Dalston area, G.
If you ever go out on the lash and are in need of more standard sustenance then you cannae go wrong with Damascus Bite near Broadgate Tower. Looks like a standard shit house takeaway dump but their kebabs are done with proper naan and really tender meat, absolutely tremendous.

Corned beef salad, lettuce, tomatoes, hardboiled eggs, young onions, beetroot, raddish and a portion of home made chips on the side. Eaten al-aire-libre. Lovely.
