Looked a shadow of the player at Reading. When the other team looks at your two centre halves, one of whom is Zat Knight, and they target the other one in the air, you're not looking too good. In fairness, I've seen one ninety minutes, but not impressed. Made Zat look like Cahill with it at his feet too!

From what iv'e seen of him so far he looks overweight, runs like hes got lead weights strapped to his ankles and rarely wins a header not a good combination being a defender. Hope he get's better during the season.

He's not played regular competitive football in a long, long time so I'm hoping he will improve when he gets used to the high pace. The same goes for Chungy and Mears, who both look rusty.

Aye - Mears tired badly last night. A couple balls into the box late on were actually embarrassing. I think there are grounds for optimism with Mills, he's solid enough but needs to sharpen up. Have been impressed by the way Chungy's been applying himself and bottled nothing. He'll be reet - nowt surer.

Chungy looks rusty, Mears is just shite. Lost count how many times last night and in the Derby game he gave the ball to Chungy when he was sandwiched between 2 players and wasn't really on for a pass. Thankfully Chungy has the quality to keep hold of the ball and find another man 9 times out of 10. He shits himself when he might lose it so just looks for the quickest way to get rid of the ball. Cant understand why we binned Steinsson off and paid actual money for Mears.

When players are rusty you can still usually see some quality shining through like you can with Chungy. Mears shows nothing of the sort IMO. Get Riley in or move Ricketts over there and bring Alonso in.

I'm guessing theres more to the Steinsson situation meets the eye. Added to which, I'm guessing the make-weight in a £3m deal that included Eagles is not going to be on the salary of a £3.5m fullback. Or, sadly, the quality. I'm also guessing that Steiner is probably earning more in Turkey than we would offer him. Beyond that, I don't really know whats gone on in the last 12 months with him.

Steinsson was a fiery character on the pitch and no doubt in the changing room. Reo Coker another in your face character. Wouldn't be surprised if Coyle wanted them out because they told him some home truths. Nigel chose to leave and take the chance of not having a job come this season. I think Coyle only likes quiet happy campers to play ping pong with.

I'm not sure that stands up to scrutiny when you consider he went all-out to sign Matt Mills (who this thread is titled after). The same Matt Mills who supposedly had a ruckus with Pearson at Leicester....

Fair point, but I'm guessing he was told before signing that he had to be a good boy. Personally I think you need a hot head or 2 in a team to keep players on there toes.

This thread is about Matt Mills not our captain.

I'll thank you to keep on topic.

Pearson can start an argument in an empty room. He's about as nice a character as our Gary was.

I don't know much about Pearson except he has properly shit hair. So bad. Also, I've heard if Bruce's weird 3 at the back goes wrong and he gets the sack, Nigel might go to Hull.

"could be, maybe, make a thesis fit my prejudices" bollocks. Steinsonn was mostly shit for the last 3 seasons. As for RC - well anyone who allows himself to be interviewed fecking around with a punchbag while prostituting himself around the lower reaches of the Prem league is a bit of an arse in my book- and his efforts last season for us were wildly overrated

I see Secret Agent Mills has started well for you boys !! Don't say we didn't warn you.
LCFC were fortunate to beat Blackpool so hoof ball Pearson keeps his job for a while longer but its only a matter of time...
Hate to say it but think Forest could be real dark horses this time - made some astute loan deals

As said above. Steinsson was mostly shit, he was a raging pisshead to boot. Spent time in rehab after his divorce and never even tried to stay sober.

Do we have corroborative evidence to support this?

You mean saying stuff with corroborative evidence to support it? Would certainly be a rarity for this site!

Take it off by all means. I thought it was common knowledge and was told as much by Tony Kelly.. There were also pictures all over twitter of him steamers the night before a game.. Jaeger bombs, whiskey, the lot!
