They never get enough time in the greenhouse to ripen normally.norm the jedi wrote:I assume ngog is being unfairly judged on premiership appearances whilst marvellous Marvin didn't figure over much at that level.. So far I'd take N'gog fer now, hope Marvin comes good but fear he may be another one of our speciality ... The saviour and answer to all our ills ... Until we pick him at which point he's turned back into a pumpkin. Tal, Riga, etc etc

They end up that shape though.

Next brew I make, you can stir it!thebish wrote:now... something doesn't quite add up there....50sQuiff wrote:Even if I was blind I could probably get someone to read me the facts, which happen to be a miserable 3 in 34 games. Do you understand that? His strike rate is less than 1 in 11. I've also seen him play enough times to know he poses no goal threat whatsoever.boltonboris wrote:And you're obviously blind.

I'd ask the same question but say 'and you base this on what from Ngog?'Hoboh wrote:And you'd base this on what? 5 mins of seeing Sordell actually playingboltonboris wrote:Sordell is a million miles from being anywhere near Ngog![]()
Just for the record I think Ngog has something about him but reckon he needs a manager like BSA to get it out, never in a month of Sundays under the great Pretender!
As 50s Quiff pointed out, his statistics are shameful.

Here's a statistic (without any numbers). We win more when Ngog plays than when he doesn't (probably).Gail Platz wrote:I'd ask the same question but say 'and you base this on what from Ngog?'Hoboh wrote:And you'd base this on what? 5 mins of seeing Sordell actually playingboltonboris wrote:Sordell is a million miles from being anywhere near Ngog![]()

I used to think Coyle was a nice, clueless bloke
I'm coming around to thinking he's a stubborn bully

Agreed. He's spent £3/4M on a striker, stuck him on the bench or in the reserves, despite the fact that the players ahead of him aren't scoring, aren't playing well or don't belong to us.CAPSLOCK wrote:I was merely answering the thread title

Maybe Coyle didn't want to sign Sordell? Maybe it was forced upon him. Doubt it but there's that possibility as far as i'm aware.

Judging by Nixon's comments surrounding the signing, I find that highly unlikely.Mar wrote:Maybe Coyle didn't want to sign Sordell? Maybe it was forced upon him. Doubt it but there's that possibility as far as i'm aware.

I find it highly unlikely as well. At least if that was the case it wouldn't seem such a daft signing.truewhite15 wrote:Judging by Nixon's comments surrounding the signing, I find that highly unlikely.Mar wrote:Maybe Coyle didn't want to sign Sordell? I think this is true of all coyles signings. All part of a dingle mafia conspiracy.Mar wrote:Maybe Coyle didn't want to sign Sordell? Maybe it was forced upon him. Doubt it but there's that possibility as far as i'm aware.

N'gog goes off = No outball. We stop creating chances. His finishing is poor, granted. But it's plainly obvious (so obvious it hurts my face) that he's our most prominent outlet up top.

Re: Sordell ... what's the point ?
Last night, that's rubbish. Ngog looked unfit and like his confidence is shot to pieces, outmuscled by their defenders and giving the ball away sloppily. Afobe had a lot more movement and pace. When him and petrov came on, it made a noticeable (positive) difference. But despite that, we still couldn't muster more than a few half chances. Very poor.boltonboris wrote:N'gog goes off = No outball. We stop creating chances. His finishing is poor, granted. He's getting paid thousands for spending each day training, and yet I feel sorry for him. He was playing week in, week out and scoring regularly at this level last year. If he was still at Watford, there's a good chance he'd be first name on the teamsheet.
Instead, he came to Bolton.

I guess he may regret a decision made in haste: there aren't many industries where you up sticks within hours. At least he's got years in front of him - imagine if he'd made the same move with a wife and three kids settled at schools...
